Not as good as others say for facial / beard cleanup.I have been using the bigger Wahl for a few years now and I like it and still use it.I thought I'd give this smaller one a try and see if I can use it better for my face/beard.It is small and easy to maneuver.Using it without any attachments, it gets caught on my facial hairs and did cut me a few times. I didn't find it easy to get what I wanted to achieve. Unlike its bigger alternative, this one does not have the sliding adjuster switch and only has attachments.Overall I am not satisfied with what I wanted to do with it. It will not give you a good shave like others have stated. With attachments it might be better to get some short beard cleaning, but wont give you a clean look.I'm going to have to find a different use for it.3Just not as great as everyone claims I was looking for a replacement for my Wahl trimmer that was included with the https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XU8ABA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 kit as it is definitely on its last legs after keeping my head bald for the past 6 years. The Peanut seemed like the perfect replacement, adding the consistency and extra power of being corded.Unfortunately, the blades weren't that sharp and I had to do multiple runs to cut through my hair. And I have pretty thin hair, so it's not like it has to charge through a forest like my son has on his head. This might have just been a fluke with the one I got, but it definitely didn't help its case. Also, it wasn't as short as the trimmer it was replacing.I'd guess that the half millimeter it did cut was 2-3x longer than the trimmer, so it just meant that I looked like I had 3-4 days of growth after each trim.Worst of all, the Peanut was loud. So, back it went.I ended up going with the Wahl Balding Clipper (#8110) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VVT94G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 and it's exactly what I was looking for. It's twice as wide as the old trimmer, corded so it has more power, is much quieter (low hum), and cuts just as short as the old trimmer. 3Meh. After reading so many great reviews I was really underwhelmed when I tried this thing.First of all, it shouldn t be labeled as professional . This thing is nowhere near professional quality. It s super lightweight and you can tell it s cheaply made and probably cost all of $7 to manufacture.Second, while it does work, it takes 4-5 passes on my facial scruff to do what my old cordless Philips Norelco did in 2-3 passes. It works but it doesn t work in a way that impresses me or as well as a lot of other people reviewing it seem to think it does. I m trying to decide if I want to keep it or return it. 3basically and finally got down to wondering if I bought a knock off piece of crap or not Ok , full disclosure - I bought this 2 years ago today , basically and finally got down to wondering if I bought a knock off piece of crap or not . I mean this ad looks legit and I have 3 other wahl purchases over the years . I was on vacation and needed one as I forgot mine . Did not cut like any of the others I have or had and was a rough cut on my face unlike the usual glide right across that I'm used to . Not sure what the difference is between this and the other 2 white ones I've bought and had for many years . I believe I bought this for price - already knowing that Wahl was a good product but for some reason , I got a lemon or fake or this one just isn't up to Wahl standards . 1Every person should own one of these. Couldnt be more happy with this trimmer. This is my 3rd one and i can tell you that is not a bad thing. I tend to neglect these trimmers and take it with me everywhere i go.They get used hard and never slow down over the years of constant hard use.The trimmer performed exactly the same up until the day it died and didn't turn back on.I have shaved my friends entire head with the power of this trimmer and it keeps working. Ideally this is a small body trimmer or edge trimmer for beard or hairline but it built well enough and strong enough to bust through almost any hair you may want to try it on.I highly recommend every man has this in the grooming kit. i believe they also offer a cordless version now but i like the cord because of the hardcore power this little guy puts out. 5Great Clippers for Body HairGreat trimmer! As with any trimmer, it will only last if it's maintained, so be sure to clean and oil it regularly. That said, this works for everything head to toe as far as hair is concerned. Very powerful and enough for whatever you throw at it. I find the four guard sizes to be enough for what I need it for, which is mainly body hair. I use it with or without guards depending on what I want to trim, but word to the wise: if you're going to use this "below the belt," be VERY careful using it without the guards, male or female. Even the most cautious person can nick more sensitive skin without a guard so I'd recommend using them in those areas. If you're debating between this and a cordless body hair trimmer, this is DEFINITELY the more powerful option. No matter how great the battery of a cordless trimmer may be, it still falls short of a plugged in model like this one. And the cord is plenty long, so I can plug it in and do all my trimming over the tub for easier cleanup.Cleaning: Just pop the clipping piece off from the unit, use the brush provided to brush the hairs out of the metal teeth, apply a small amount of oil to the teeth (seriously, it doesn't take much) and pop the piece back on. It's a cinch!5Don't even waste your money on the larger $25 handheld home grooming ... This thing is a little beast. Don't even waste your money on the larger $25 handheld home grooming kit. Drop a dime on this one and you'll definitely be happy about it. However the attachments are a little bit pointy I had to round them off with a Dremel in order to get more detail cuts. 4Perfect in every way AMAZING product Ive bought other clippers before and I always liked a double 00's on me the other ones wouldn't come close but these are perfect it looks like if I shaved my head it looks ALOT better than when I cut it at the barbers also its light weight not bulky at all easy to grip definitely recommend this item and for the price totally worth every penny very satisfied costumer. 5This is a six-star product Wahl Peanut, oh Wahl Peanut. Where were you all my life?Best beard trimmer I've ever owned. It doesn't use one of those weak recharging batteries that all fail, eventually, to hold charge - it plugs into the wall with a long, heavy gauge cable. Small size, comfy shape, and it shaves unexpectedly close - indeed I've never gotten a shave this close from any beard trimmer I've ever used. I'm 40.I have a full size Wahl clipper that's at least 16 years old. That's a high standard to meet, but I'll update this review if my Peanut dies prematurely or fails in any other way. 5Great Beard Trimmer I have been long searching for a face/beard trimmer that i actually like, is easy to use, and wont mar my face with out a guard. For the last 7 years i have used the Gillette trimmer that came with the attachable razor head. This worked well for many years though it wasn't with out its issues. However i don't think it was ever meant to last this long nor to be used how i used it and it finally started to become weak and dull. Plus now growing and maintaining a goatee i needed something that could do more precise edges and that had guards so i could keep it a uniform length. One day at my parents house i started using a rechargeable trimmer that they had and half way threw it died on me leaving me in a panic! I remember my mother (who use to be a beautician, and still did the occasional hair cut for family) had a wahl peanut trimmer. I manged to find it and it was marvelous! I immediately knew i had to have one. Its perfect for precise edging and safe enough to be used with no guard to take the rest of the face down to a 5 o clock shadow. Its very maneuverable even with the cord. Its also not "buzzy" which seem to be common in cheap trimmers. Another reason i knew i had to have one was because of the quality and durability. The one i used that belonged to my mother was at least 10yrs old if not 15 or more and it still preformed flawlessly. The guards are good quality and the 1/8" increments work well for me though i see some would prefer some 1/16th increments. I dont see the cord as a draw back at all. Maybe a compromise but id much rather deal with a cord than have to always worry about recharging a trimmer or worry about it dying half way threw a trim. 5Perfect for shaving your head weekly I shave my head weekly. I want to get it as low as possible without using an actual razor. These things work like a champ! I had my first one for almost 15 years, and it still works, however I just wanted to get a new one because the old one was looking somewhat worn. These are so worth the money. There a little gem. 5I cut my own hair with it. A quality tool for mustaches and beards. If I have a few days (or more) of beard stubble, I use this before the razor. This is mainly what I bought it for and it works great, leaves the equivalent of about one day's growth (my growth is about medium, not heavy, not light). I wish I'd had this when I had my beard, it would be an excellent tool for beards. Before I shaved off my mustache, I used the Peanut for trimming and it really worked great! It worked great to shave off the mustache, too. I've removed my mustaches with various tools, and the Peanut is the best yet. I'm a craftsman who enjoys using good quality tools, and this is one of them.I've had the Peanut for a few months now and have used it to cut my own hair, with great results. One day my hair was way too long and it was time to go to the barber. I figured the barber could fix anything I did with the Wahl if I didn't cut it too short, so I decided to give it a try, and I haven't been to the barber since. I cut it when I haven't washed my hair for a few days. I put on the #4 stand-off and buzz it all over the sides and back (I go over it a few times, pausing to use a comb, until I get it to where it looks okay). I don't go too high up on the sides, just a trimmer-width or less over the ears, and somehow the top always seems to come out fine (staying long enough to part and comb nicely). Without any stand-off, I trim around the ears and trim-up the sideburns. With the #2 stand-off, I do my eyebrows. Using a hand mirror, I scissor off the the hair at the back of my neck if it's too long. Then I give it a good shampoo, and the next day if anything needs a little more trim (which about half the time it does) I give it a quick tune-up with the Wahl, and I'm good for about three weeks. This little baby is going to pay for itself pretty quickly, if it hasn't already. The Peanut is fairly quiet, too, doesn't hurt my ears at all. I've had three other electric hair clippers (full size) and the Peanut whips them all for sound and clean-cutting. About those other three: one died, one actually broke and fell apart while I was using it, and one is very dull and does not have replaceable blades like the Peanut. My only CON: I like very pliable cords that tend to hang straight, and this one is a little too stiff and plasticky, but I've seen worse.5Good but not great. Pulls on stubble.I like its size and that it is powered by a cord, After owning several battery powered alternatives and struggling with diminished charged capacity over short periods of time, I wanted to move to a non-battery powered model. However, my cheaper Wahl beard trimmer seemed more powerful and smooth. This unit pulls on stubble when trimming and causes discomfort compared to the cheaper alternative I mentioned.3The only peanut I like! Bought to replace a different pair of trimmers that started to rust. I've used this three times and it's excellent I shave my head so I first buzz everything and then shave (makes life easier). I've been through about 3 different trimmers in the past few years and honestly I wish I spent a little extra and bought this instead. I have thick afro-Italian hair so battery-operated trimmers make that slow down noise like when you mow a thick patch of grass but I haven't had that with the Peanut yet. I also haven't had any hairs just pulled out and less irritation afterwards. My only real complaint is that I wish it could get closer to my skin, since I normally shave, but it gets pretty close, closer than my last trimmer with the same size blade.Pros:* Good heft for a small trimmer* Does exactly what it's supposed to* Doesn't pull hair* Easy to handle (due to size)* Corded, so there's no slow down when cutting thick hairCons:* Hair can still get between the blade and the trimmer* Cord can feel a little short depending on your setup (or where your outlet is)Make sure to use the oil included and to clean it out once you are done to ensure the blade stays sharp! 5Good Clippers These clippers are pretty good. Much more powerful than the cordless Wahl clippers I have been using for years. I shave my beard off and grow it back periodically. With my old cordless trimmers, I looked like a dog with mange after the first pass. The Peanut easily took everything off in one (much faster) pass. The cord is a good length that will let you use it with a plug-in up to 4 or 5 feet away.My only complaints are that I would like clearer markings on the guards, and I would like a case. Wahl does sell a combo package with a case, but the case is too big (seems to be for a full size trimmer), and it is actually cheaper to buy the case and the Peanut clippers separately. 4
