Started coming apart the first time I used them Used these clippers for the first time today. They cut my nails just fine but when I tried to swivel the lever back into the closed position it got stuck and started coming apart at the joint. I was able to work the lever back into the position for cutting fingernails and apparently that is the position I will have to leave them in in order to continue using them in the future. I expected better quality from the Tweezerman brand. 2Beware, they have the picture of the wrong clipper. The picture shown is of a 3013-P (professional series) clipper, but what you get is the 3085-R clipper. It's a totally different style 1Clips & Smoothes In One Motion I had read many reviews before purchasing these nail clippers, and I did not pay much mind about people saying how they also smooth. Wow, they were right. Like many of the reviewers, I had only purchased nail clippers from gas stations or dollar stores and I just really wanted a good pair of nail clippers.I have already clipped my nails with these and I have not needed to use an emery board to smooth out the rough edges, because there are none. Very happy with these. Great value for the price. I highly recommend! 5but poor in finishing These are quality in materials, but poor in finishing, which makes them awkward to use. All of the edges of the cutting blade are unpolished and not chamfered, so they are sharp 90 degree corners where you hold them and also where you are sliding them between your fingernail and your fingertip. As a result, they don't slide easily along as you are advancing the cutter along the cutline. This seems like such a simple thing that a company like this should have corrected before going into production.I have an older pair of tweezerman clippers that are a little smaller and do not have this problem. They're still available and I will be getting a pair of those. They're cheaper too. 2Really works! After buying several from the drug store, all with minimal clipping ability, weak metal, not very sharp and just simply too expensive for not working, bought this item! Nice and sharp! Easy to hold and manipulate. I am happy. AND they will resharpen when needed! Only thing is the arms are a bit short making use tricky to hold them while manipulating. 5Disappointed I bought these clippers a little over a year ago. They clip well but no better then others I've bought for less money. Like some other reviewers have noted they have an annoying tendency to fall apart. This has happened multiple times and while they are simply fixed with pliers it shouldn't happen.I would not buy them again. 3Does the job & no nail file needed Let me preface by saying that this is the first "real" fingernail clipper I've ever purchased (I'm male btw). Before this, I've just been using random clippers usually found as part of some cheap multi pack so I don't have much to compare to.They are of solid quality, basically 1 piece metal for the main part and have a sharp edge. I guess I can see where other reviewers are complaining that they leave their nails with jagged edges but I'm not sure how others do it but I'm not a fan of using a nail filer. What I do is once I've circled around and cut the fingernail, I literally run the edge of the nail clipper around the freshly cut edge to make it nice- smooth- and uniform. It's been working great in doing this so I have to give it 5 stars 5Nice, but not the same as my last setNice, but not the same as my last set. I had a set of small Tweezerman clippers that I used for many years and they were simply the best quality I could find even when comparing them to fancier ones. They were labelled as "surgical stainless" and had a more grey hue than regular stainless products. They were also smooth, without any ridges, grips or embellishments and polished to a near mirror finish. The Tweezerman name and lightning bolt like outline were laser etched into the handle. They cut amazingly well with zero snags and never seemed to dull. What I have described is the holy grail of hand nail clippers, yet I cant seem to find them anywhere; heck I don't even know where I got the last set that's how long I had them. When they vanished at a friends house, I began the hunt for a new set. These perform well, but are not as nice as my old set. This set is stainless, well constructed, has a bit of a satin finish and ridges on the lever, I guess for a better grip. While these provide a nice clean, effortless cut, they seem to leave a tiny bit of a "lip" at the edge of the cut. Maybe its my imagination and I'm just partial to my last set, but either way these are nice clippers and better than the crap store brand pair from a chain pharmacy I tried use. FYI, I received the correct, smaller hand nail clipper (3013-P); oddly enough, googling this model number displays the older version I used to own... Go figure... Bottom line: buy em, and happy clipping!4Sharp and don't rust in the shower I tend to cut my nails in the shower... the heat seems to soften them a bit making the job a bit easier. Thus, I tend to leave my clippers in that high moisture environment. Every pair I've owned has degraded into what looks like a old car left in a field. Not only do they fail to work after a while, they leave nasty rust stains on whatever surface they are left on.This little guy, being made of stainless, so far seems immune to this fate. Haven't had them long, but not signs of rust so far. And I've been happy with all the Tweezerman products I've owned so far. 4pretty much the best these clippers however broke after only ... I purchased the tweezerman clippers for a few extra dolllars over "generic brand" because they are a company I previously respected for these kinda products. Their tweezers are, as the name implies, pretty much the bestthese clippers however broke after only a few months of usage.And, like, who breaks fingernail clippers?Like, honestly, I don't think I've ever heard of a pair breaking...people only buy new ones because they lose them.But the metal clasp on these snapped at random leaving the lever and clipper sides disconnected.Pour quality control? That's exactly the kind of dumb product failure I was paying a little extra to avoid by going with a "trusted" brand. 1I do not like the performanceWhile I do prefer the stainless steel, I do not like the performance. These clippers have terrible, misaligned blades that tear my nails instead of cutting them. My old ruined 99 cent crap cutters perform far better, and these were supposed to replace them. My search for good, well made clippers continues...1Not sharp! Don't buy these! They're no better than the cheap convenience store nail clippers you buy for a few bucks.I bought two of them and they were both very dull. I have to squeeze quite hard just to make them cut my fingernails, whereas any other pair of new nail clippers usually have no issue. Additionally, the design of these nail clippers is flawed. The back edges are squared off making them sharp and causing them to dig into your skin as you're trying to use them. 1Good enoughThese are really strong tweezers. They do the large toenail with ease. They also have a hole for adding to a keyring.The reason they receive a 4 rating is that when I clip my nails (which are real soft) they leave some of them kind of jaggy. They don't clip clean and neat. It's not that they don't go through - they do. They just tear the nail a bit or leave sharp edges or something. I compare it to a really cheap, old set of nailclippers I had for years. They broke. But they clipped cleanly and smoothly, never leaving sharp or snagging edges. These are not those clippers, for sure. I was rather surprised because Tweezerman is supposed to have such a great product. These are not what I expected (perfection).4
