Cleans tough makeup, good part of two step cleansingThis is a very good light oil cleanser. As a girl who likes to wear dark eyeliner everyday, I find it hard to find a good product to clean off my makeup. This oil cleanser does just that.I first tested this product with my Lineur Intense eyeliner because it's the toughest for me to remove. The oil was light enough to melt away my makeup and turn them from tough solid makeup to liquid (2nd picture). In the 3rd picture, I washed my skin with water . And voila ! My skin was completely clear of any trace of eye liner. The cleanser also left me with a soft and smooth feel on my skin.My face is not as dry as my hand's skin. It's very oily and also prone to acne. This product did not break me out at all! However, I do need to use a foam cleanser after this oil cleanser to completely remove my oils and sebum. It also helps removed some of the blackheads on my nose and leaves my pores much smaller than before. I'm also glad it has no paraben at all (paraben is one of the major cancer causing agent used as preservative in makeup). Overall I'm very happy with the product. I will definite return to use this again!5Love This Cleanser as a One-Stop Night Cleanser I went on a Korean skin care shopping spree and bought several products recommended. This is my favorite one of the bunch. It's an oil, but when applied and gently rubbed, it takes my makeup right off. When I rinse, it leaves enough of the oil behind that I don't feel like I have to do extra moisturizing unless I want to. My skin is large-pored and not particularly dry or oily. After a week of regular nightly use, I feel like I'm seeing less break-outs and some bumpier patches seem smoother thanks to the moisturizing. I tried it at first with a toner afterward, but that just removed the oil entirely and my skin started to dry out, even when I applied a lotion on top. This is my one product at night now. 5You have been warned! Be very careful if you choose to purchase this item! It says in the title ok for dry skin.... it is NOT! It burns so bad, literally. I have burns around my eye area that are painful to the touch and even cool water. I also woke up with my skin severely dry and pedaling all over my face. I have never had a reaction like this, and my skin is combo, not even dry. 1Great oil cleanser for 2 step cleansing This is a facial cleanser oil that claims to use the powerful brightening properties of rice to brighten and clear your complexion. I usually love to use rice products as I do see a brightening effect, but the effect is always temporary - I'm glowing for a few hours and then reality hits and my face is a lot more dull. I still love rice-based items though and this was ridiculously cheap, so I brought it.The oil came wrapped in bubble wrap. Once you remove the tiny stopped under the nozzle of the bottle, you can activate the pump and use the bottle - thus, no worry about leaks! It's rather secure which I was very pleased about. The liquid is a clear and viscous, and smells faintly of flowers. If you have not used an oil cleanser before, here's how to do it:1. Clean your hands and dry them. Your face and hands should be dry2. Squirt 1-2 pumps onto dry hands3. Massage the oil into your dry face for 1-2 minutes4. Rinse hands, and bring your wet hands to your face and massage until the oil emulsifies. You should see the dirt, dead skin, and makeup build up.5. Wash off with water, and a use a 2nd cleanser.A small pump makes a big difference so no need to drown your skin in oil. I used one pump onto dry hands and massaged it over my face. It's incredibly gentle but effective at removing all my makeup, sunscreen and then some (dead skin, dirt, sebum buildup, etc). It didn't sting or burn my eyes and when I washed it off, I did not feel an oily residue on my skin afterwards. My skin felt baby smooth and clean. I always followed up with another cleanser just to be thorough. 5If you have sensitive, acne prone skin: SKIP IT I'm really sad, because after reading all of the wonderful reviews of this product on amazon I was really hopeful it would help control my sebum production. I have overly oily , acne prone skin that tends to be on the sensitive side. Well I've tried to incorporate this into my nightly routine on two separate occasions (both six months apart). Within a week of using it every pore around my mouth and nose becomes clogged and utterly nasty. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT PURGE, there's not chemically exfoliant in this product that would cause any kind of skin purge. So if you begin to break out after using it, stop. This might be a wonder product for others but if you have oily, acne prone, sensitive skin, this will only make things much worse, in my experience. 1BEST MAKE UP REMOVER OF ALL TIME!! I have got to say that this is hands down the only makeup remover I plan on using for the rest of my life. I wear heavy make up on a daily basis. I am talking about baking, contouring, eye shadow and falsies. This makeup facial cleanser also works wonders days I do not wear as much make up.Let's start with the price... affordable as heck!Size... ok so like I said I wear A LOT of make up on a daily basis and use this every day. The bottle lasts me at least 2-3 months. This is also my 4th bottle so yes I am in fact obsessed.I used to use baby remover and cotton balls but that leaves your face feeling oily and my pore feeling clogged. It did take off my make up very well though... all I am saying is you get the same results without the oily pore clogging feeling but better. Also packaging looks cute in my bathroom. I highly recommend this product!! I didn't know I would love it this much but I truly do. 5How To Achieve the 10 Step Korean Beauty Routine in 8 Steps or Less (List of Products in Order) I recently began a quest for all the beauty products needed to achieve the youthful, dewy look ever popular in Korea in anticipation of my wedding day. (Yes, I'm an American who watches a lot of Kdramas and became supremely jealous of Kon Joon-He's character in "She Was Pretty.") I've had a fantastic experience with the new skin care regimen: huge reduction in blemishes, almost completely eliminated the pimples!!!--I just get one or two during my period--evened skin tone, and overall a cleaner, softer face. Since it's been so overwhelming to research every step on my own, I'm providing a list of all the winners so far, and in what order of the skin care/makeup routine to use them in. Hopefully this is helpful for anyone who wants to venture into the world of Korean skin care but isn't sure where to start. **Indicates the product in review.1. Cleanser - The Face Shop: Rice Water Bright**Apply this to dry, unwashed skin and gently rub in circles to fully cleanse your face. Works as a makeup remover, but I'd recommend a different product for eye makeup removal. Rinse the oil off with lukewarm water. This is the perfect, gentle cleanser for sensitive, mixed oily/dry skin, like mine. It has a very faint smell of rice water. Not surprising, considering that's what it is. A little goes a long way, so one pump is usually enough for my entire face. Be careful not to carry it sideways in a makeup kit if the pump gets loose. I made the mistake of doing that, and got all my other products coated in rice water cleanser. ;) Oh, and that little plastic thing on the pump pops right off. It took me forever to figure it out. I kept twisting and unscrewing and finally realised you just pull the little plastic piece right off and then snap it back on when you're done for the night. :P2. Toner/Refresher - Etude House 10-in-1 House Wonder Pore FreshenerTightens pores, and purifies skin. Apply to a cotton pad or cotton balls and then to face. Let dry.3. Moisturiser - Skin Food Peach Sake EmulsionPretty self-explanatory. Apply right after the toner sets in to feed your face with some moisture.4. Serum - Skin Food Peach Sake Pore SerumA slightly more concentrated moisturiser to apply after the first. Yes, Koreans have many steps (most of them moisturising ones) in their beauty routine, I've learned. But it really does amazing things to your skin. And once you get the hang of it, applying all these products every night doesn't really take a whole lot of extra time. It also cuts back on my makeup routine in the morning, because when my skin is naturally healthy, clear, and soft, I'd rather show it off than cover it up. ;)5. Night Cream - Nature Republic Fresh Green TeaNOTE: This particular product is not sold on Amazon. I had to buy it on sale at my local Korean market because I was too scared to order anything over $10 that I wasn't sure about. But you can find any number of night creams here for the final step. I recommend something with green tea or aloe. Just apply at night onto clean, pampered skin, rub it in thoroughly, and sleep on it!Other Cosmetics/Extras I Found Useful/Worth Purchasing:Facial Scrub - Skin Food Black Sugar MaskUse twice a week for a deeper facial cleanse than you regular cleanser. Apply a little, gently exfoliate, leave on, rinse off. If it goes on too thick, use a little water or toner to make it easier to scrub in.CC Cream - Lioele Dollish CC Cera-VCC Creams are much like BB Creams, (not a cream to match your skin colour, but a transparent foundation/primer) but if my experience with the two I've tried is any indication, CC Creams give more coverage and make the skin look more bright, white, and luminescent, rather than simply evening out the skin tone and providing SPF. Apply before any colour foundations.Highlighter - Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter #1 Pink & White MixTo be brushed on over foundation in key spots to brighten the face even further. Goes on like a sheer fairy dust--just a bit of sparkle, but not like glitter. This isn't for a Labyrinth Masquerade ball, you know. ;)Face Mist - Innisfree Green Tea Mineral MistFace Mist is something you apply whenever you choose, before or after makeup, to keep your face hydrated and fresh throughout the day. I carry a bottle in my purse and spritz a little on whenever I feel my face is tired. :) This particular mist I haven't tried yet, because my order hasn't arrived, but I bought a Nature Republic bamboo mist from my local Korean market, and I love it a lot.Products I Didn't Think Worth the Fuss:Face Masks- These are a huge hit in Korea, and they're fun to wear around the house to get a rise out of family members who think you look creepy. But for me they're too sticky, drippy, and overrated. I prefer the clay masks or avocado masks that you have to wash off after.Expensive Serums, Essence, Bee Toxin... anything over $20 a bottle I passed up. As I've discovered, you can get really great results with just the five things I listed above, and none of them are over $15. Most are under $10. 5This product is basically witchcraft, it's so good. This product is basically witchcraft, it's so good. I was a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews, but it wasn't necessary to worry. I used this cleanser in place of a makeup remover and it almost disintegrated my makeup for me. I read somewhere that this product wasn't recommended for the eyes, but I used this cleanser on my eyes with my contacts in with no issues. In fact, it took off my waterproof mascara like it was nothing!I simply followed the instructions, applied to dry skin, rubbed in circles, and rinsed. I was so wowed by this product that I basically ran out of the bathroom and tried to get my aunt to take her makeup off with it. There was no burning or feeling of scrubbing like every other makeup remover I've ever used. I then followed up with a foam cleanser. I've been using this routine for a few days now and I can already see the difference in my skin when I wake up. This is what nice, clean skin looks like! Maybe soon I won't even have to wear makeup at all.My skin type is combination skin with hormonal breakouts, for anyone who is curious.10/10 recommend this to everyone I know. 5Cleans, cuts through makeup, non-irritation, moisturizes, improves oily skin I have oily skin and this is a great makeup remover wash that works well on its own or can be used before "soap/acne treatment" type wash. It leaves skin feeling well moisturized, not greasy, but supple and did not aggravate my acne. I've discovered that the "don't use oil on oily skin" rule is poor advice; when my skin is well moisturized it decreases oil production. With improved texture and moisture and decreased need for other products and cover-ups I've moved to a much simpler facial care regimen. I use it with a Konjac Facial Sponge and the combination provides helpful exfoliation and deep pore access and debris removal without incurring abrasion and irritation. Many cosmetics and skin debris wont dissolve in mild cleansers, dissolve into the oil beautifully. I did a test comparing this to my previous cleanser (Aveeno) and used a witch hazel toner on cotton on each side to see if it was really doing it's job. Time to order more! 5BOSS! My face was grosser than I anticipated:) What I loved was realising oil cleansers are worth the hype for all! Not just those who wear makeup. I have super sensitive skin, bad acne, hyperpigmentation and scaring. After being on Accutane massive improvements have happened, and I was reluctant to introduce a new routine to my face.Wow, first of all, I religiously wash my face the way I pray before I eat. My dermatologist told me great hydration, skin cleansing and spf is the fast track to making my skin healthy and happy again. This product constantly takes off dead skin, loose whiteheads and blackheads, and fuzzies from where ever off my face. I'd share a pic but I'm self conscious. Just know I thought my regular cleansing routine was great till I introduced this.WHY 4 STARS: because of the oil consistency I've found 2 to 3 pumps works best for face and neck. This bottle is over half empty and its only been 2 weeks. It gets all over your lips and you will taste soap lol. Sucks to suck but that's the consistency of the formula. BE AN ADULT my friends said, and avoid getting it so close to your lips then my friends said. I've tried people, it's mission impossible it either gets in my eyes or on my lips lol. I have to try other oil cleansers to tell you if it's because of this brand of if it's oil cleansers in general since this is my first. (Update, it's this brand. I still prefer it to others, 06/17/19) So aside from the lovely taste of soap every night I have greatly enjoyed this cleanser.I make 0 money from this and I bought it at full price! Ask if you have questions! 4Lobster Red Skin I picked this product out because it was cheap and had rave reviews without looking at the ingredients BIG MISTAKE. Immediately after using this my face heated up and turned bright red! The rash stayed there for a good while and it made any moisturizers I put on afterwards sting and burn. I looked at the ingredients to try to find out why I d have a reaction, and it turns out that this product has several fragrances that can be very irritating to skin. I tried it again today to see if it would have another reaction and that s why I m sitting on my bed with three layers of moisturizer on my beet-red and painful face. An utter waste of money please don t do this to yourself.(My first review, too. I m very easy to please with products, but this crossed a line.)Long story short it s cheap, but you re taking a big risk by buying it. 1Light and does the job well!Very impressed with this oil. The first time I used it was right after I got out of the shower, my face was clean...or so I thought. I applied the oil just to give it a try. A tiny squirt that I rubbed onto my fingers to easily distribute onto my face. The oil is light and had a soft scent that I'd describe as powdery with a hint of flowers. I massaged the oil in a circular motion onto my face and later removed it with a cotton ball, and to my amazement the cotton ball was dirty, ew! Mind you, I had not been using any makeup that day. This oil picked up dirt (most likely dead skin) that I didn't know was there! That's also why I use a cotton ball, so I can see what I've picked up. I later applied water to rinse off what was left of the oil and later washed my face again with a Korean brand of face soap that I ordered along with this oil. My face felt fresh and clean without any tightness or dryness. My skin type is: combination with an oily t-zone. I've been using this for several days now and it removes makeup so well. I just put a pump or two onto my fingers and massage the oil all over my face, concentrating on the areas where I applied makeup, remove the oil with a cotton ball, rinse my face with water, then apply face soap ( just started using a Korean brand) because I like to make sure everything is thoroughly clean. Just to let you know, the oil is light and watery. I would say that it's a dry oil and doesn't really leave you greasy like oils do (I can't read Korean so not sure if they would call it a dry oil, but it sure does feel that way). If you don't want to have it drip off of your fingers you could use a cotton ball or cotton pad to apply it onto your face. The oil came shrink wrapped and taped up in bubble wrap. There's a tiny stopper under the nozzle of the bottle that you remove to activate the pump. No packaging/box was with this face oil but it's alright with me, I can't read what it would say anyways. I included a photo of how my bottle arrived in the shrink wrap, which was pretty secure as the pump cannot be activated unless you remove the stopper, and the shrink wrap prevented the nozzle from turning during shipping. This oil is a great add to my daily cleansing routine and I'd order it again.5
