Would have been pulled from a store shelf. Poor quality. Three barrettes are seconds if that. One of them oxidized so bad it reminds me of the old barrette you find years after being jammed in the back of the drawer. 1Don't work well with thick hairThese certainly are no-slip! I like the simplicity of the design and color options, that is what drew me to this product. However, they are SUPER tight and hurt when I wear them. I think it's because I have very thick hair so to move it back, it's moving a lot of hair and it's a challenge to get the clasp closed and then open when I'm done or want to change it.I don't think these are good if you have thick hair, anyone with thin or fine hair should be fine, although they may be heavy for you I'm not sure. I sadly won't be buying these again, not the right clip for my hair.2Size does matter! I purchased these because they we supposed to be 1 1/2" long (according to picture #2 in the description). I have fine, thin hair and "standard" size baretts are just too big. Very disappointed that these Baretts are actually regular size, NOT even close to 1 1/2". 2Don t waste your money, they are crap!These are the worst barrettes I ve ever tried to use. They are so tight you can t close them when you don t have hair in them, it s impossible to close them when you DO have hair in them. I cut the plastic off and bent one to see if I could close it but it was no use. I have really fine thin hair and I ve attempted to try every one in the package, but they are crap! They also have sharp edges, so 2 strikes against them! Not worth buying unless you plan to use them on your Barbie Doll, but I don t guarantee they would work there either! Save your money!1Not as pictured, or implied. I ordered these because they imply that they are 1.5 inches long. They are actually 2.25 inches, the same size as some I already have. When I looked again at the online picture, it shows a person's fingers being 1.5 inches apart, but then the clip is turned at an angle, making it longer - SNEAKY!!! Also, the picture showed 2 black, 2 silver and 2 tortoise shell. I could have used 4 of these. What I got was 2 silver, 2 gold and 2 copper. I know, it said colors may vary. Well they did, and I will only be able to use 2 of these. I have not yet tried them, so can't speak to the "no slip" feature. I am initially disappointed in these. The only way I would order more is if the "no slip" feature is REALLY incredible!The "no slip" feature is good. These are now my "go to" barrettes. I still don't like being tricked into buying them, thinking they were smaller, but am glad I have them. I am upgrading my rating from 1 to 4. 4Great clips, check your products before sending them out.I've been using these clips for many years. They're simple but do their job very well. I have curly hair and often find clips get "stuck" or tangled in my hair and it hurts so I didn't generally use them unless I'd straightened my hair until I found these. Curly or straight they work. My only sadness is with the vendor and not the product, I purchased 2 and had to return 1 because it was missing clips. Please do some QA when you're packing orders, even if you're FBA and Amazon is shipping that's worse because 2 companies touched the product and didn't catch that it was incomplete. Love the clips and they've become a little difficult to find in store so I was happy that Amazon carried them reasonably priced.4Okay for fine hair, but not if you have a lot of itMy hair is really, really fine. And these barrettes are so tight, I can barely get them closed. I like the idea of the rubber making them no-slip, but if I can't get them closed, there's no point. Because they are metal, I'm thinking of bending them a bit to see if that helps. Otherwise, they are going in the donation bin.3Not good at all! Sorry but find that the "no slip " part was similar to adding a wrap of clear packaging tape to the barrett. The edges of it actually caught on my hair and caused it to rip. I was VERY disappointed in these barretts! 1Not like they used to makeI wanted the basic classic ones they ve always made but now unfortunately they make these. They are too bent and difficult to open and close. Something also went wrong at the factory and there is a bit of pointy metal right where you put your thumb to open and close it, I didn t draw blood yet but almost. The sticky part works fine but over all these are lower quality than they used to make. I m going to have to go around to all the sores that sold the old ones and biy them out so I will always have what I need.1Probably better for kids My hair is really, really fine. I have baby fine hair and can pull back half my hair and no slippage. 5Good ProductI got these for my wife by her request. She has fine hair. She had complained about various types of barrettes she had bought over time none of them would stay in place. She tried them for a few days, and she tells me that they really do the job and she never had any barrettes that worked as well as these do. She says she'd be completely happy if they looked better. I agree with her. They are very functional but kind of lackluster in the appearance department. No, they are not ugly. They just look a little drab. Nevertheless, they are a good product. The plastic cover on the spring really does the job.4Decent gripI have very baby-fine hair that is silky and will not hold a barrette. I've had to buy kid barrettes to find ones that are small enough to hold my hair, but I still have problems with the barrettes sliding out. I ordered these barrettes and when they came I took one look at them and thought there was no way they would stay in my hair. So far, so good. The extra rubbery piece does grip my hair and helps hold the barrette in place. I won't lie. The barrette feels loose, and feels like it will fall out, but stays in place. I work 12 hour shifts and can make it through the entire shift without having to adjust the barrette. I gave them 4 stars because the metal barrettes look like they are scratched up. I think that is how they are made to look, but they are not pretty at all, so I won't be using those ones. The others looks nice though.4Easily change the color of these barrettesThese are the only kind of barrettes that hold my hair in place. However, I did not like any of the dull colors. I purchased cheap black nail polish and painted the outside (using two coats). Now they are shiny and perfect.5Slipped Right Out of My Hair! I didn't even get a single use from these barrettes. I put them in my hair and they slipped right out. Not as advertised. 1Incredibly difficult to open!!!!I'm not a weak person, but it took me 30 minutes and finally pliers to get One of these open! I will not use it because I might never get it out of my hair!! Waste of my time and money.1ok, not the bestI have these both with and without the no-slip grip. These seem to work a little better the more hair you clip. For example, if you are just clipping bangs back into a pony tail, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the two types of clips. More than that, the grip helps a little. Like others have said, they are a little hard to open and close, so I usually just use the clips without the grip. If you feel the backs of both types of clips, they are almost equally smooth. These might have worked better if they used a different material for the grip. I posted a picture of the grips - hope that helps.3
