A must have if you like a sharp hair line. This product is perfect for neck touch-ups between barber visits. The template has a long flat edge and a shorter edge that has curved corners.The instructions say to put the long flat edge down and don't worry about the shaving the sides. The shorter edge worked best for me and the curved corners match my hair line perfectly. I shaved right around the edges and up to the back of my ear. You can also cut the template to match your hair line. 5Simple to Use and Good Results I've cut my own hair (buzzed short) for years but always had to rely on my wife to trim my neck. For a few bucks I figured this was worth a shot. And dang if it doesn't actually make it rather simple to get a straight neckline and a clean-shaven neck. I strapped it on, checked the alignment with a handheld mirror, and proceeded to shave my neck with my clippers, holding the guide in place with my thumb and forefinger so it didn't move. Quick and easy. Checking the result afterward the results looked great. 5Sent me different product do not trustVery poor description. Item was not the same as shown in the picture. It is much smaller and the width and height of what is actually showm and advertised. Deceptive advertising. Also, this little peice of plastic with an elastic band is no where near worth the $11 shipping included, the cost was probably under $2. Horrible and wouldn't deal with this seller again.1Okay for the price but misleading pictures, no quality control To Seller: Stop showing a bunch of pictures with different (similar) products. In some pictures you show a larger guard than the one you actually ship and of different shape. The band is white in some pictures, black on others. on others. Also the band in mine was installed backwards, so I had to remove it and place it correctly. Post only pictures of what you actually sell so you won't get bad reviews. Does it work? I don't know, will try it soon but no reason why it wouldn't. 3Don't like quality/construction, but it works (barely). Plastic part of the template fragile - when elastic fully extended, you can see the plastic "slot" pulling and stretching. Can see that it will need massive duct tape support in the future. Picture a little deceiving, must be on child/youth head, template is smaller than it appears (width), and not long enough in the back to allow even cut on whole hairline (unless you move and reposition).It works, barely, best idea from other reviewer, use baseball cap - wish I had read that before I purchased would have saved my self just over 5 bucks. Rating 2 starts - "don't like" the cheap construction, difficulty in "adjusting". 2If you self-cut your hair this might work for you..... Feels awkward over my ears and doesn't guarantee if it will be straight as it could possibly shift up or down over your ear.They should've designed it so it hooks over your ear for better alignment.I guess it is good as a guide so you don't cut too far up. I ended up trimming the rest of the back of my hair without it.It's cheap but it kind of works. Will probably feel better than taping something else across the back of your head. 3I had better results using packing tape I've tried using the product twice. It just does not work well.First of all, the edge is straight, which seems like it should be, except for the fact that my neck and the back of my head is not a perfect cylinder. Applying a straight edge against a rounded surface yields edges that curve upward so I don't get a straight line.Second the elastic band just doesn't work well. I could find no angle or tightness that worked at holding the guide firmly in place. Yes, I know you are supposed to hold it with one hand, but you're just a quick slip or a slow slide away from disaster.Third, it's just not very durable. The gummy plastic of which this item is comprised has already torn where the elastic threads through it. Which brings me to my next point.Fourth, the material is also slick. It's not rubbery, there is no significant texture to allow it to grip your head and stay in place. It slides easily with very little pressure. When you're using something as a guide, the very last thing you want it to do is slide around on you.Lastly, even if everything above were not true, at the end of the day you still cannot see the back of your own head well without an array of mirrors and there is very little you can do to be sure the thing is level when you're using it.As the title reads, I had better luck just using tape or closing my eyes and feeling my way through it without a guide. 2I get the perfect line every time This works perfectly. I have been cutting my own hair for years but was never confident doing the back, so i often neglected it. With this, I get the perfect line every time. Once you get familiar with it, you won't even need a mirror to trim the neck line. 5Neck Hair Guide - A Template for Shaving and...Took nine days to arrive. It states in the directions ideal for short hair. If you have hair of any length, it is very difficult to get it straight. You really need someone to hold it for you and then why not have them take the clippers and trim it for you? I was surprised that it didn't work perfectly. The problem I found is that once you pull it on and stop positioning it you can't adjust it because any degree of pressure changes its position dramatically. I will continue to practice with it and maybe figure it out.3One Star Don't waste your money, a rubber-band and index card works better 1Awesome item, so glad I found it! Well worth the $$ Well worth the cost! Works great, wished I'd found it before. Anyone wanting to tidy up the neck line yourself this will help do the trick in a few minutes flat. Just as an fyi- IF the band isn't big enough for your neck/head (length of the strap) I can see how it would be easy to splice in an inexpensive piece of Velcro to get your desired size. (And it would be adjustable!) Just a thought. 5Good Product. Good Product. 3JunkFlexible and clear, which is good. The bad thing is that this is for people with smaller necks and heads.I wear an L/XL with fitted hats and have a 18" neck. This thing leaves a lot of my neckline exposed, of course the hardest part that tapers to my ears is not covered, so the guide is basically useless as that's all I wanted it for. It's honestly easier to eyeball it.If you can't eyeball your neckline, use a ball cap's curved bill instead - don't waste your money on this useless piece of plastic.1
