Are not long enough to cover back teeth.I clench my teeth at night, and bought these hoping it would stop me from waking up with headaches and pressure. No such luck, because they are not long enough to cover your back teeth. I don't grind my teeth in the front, which is the only area these cover. And even with that, the design of these don't make for them to fit conveniently. I wouldn't buy these again.1While having a new night guard made, my dentist ... While having a new night guard made, my dentist gave me an Aqualizer Ultra temporary splint. It worked very well, but other than through a dentist, there is only one vendor and they are $28 each. The Grind No-More did not work for me. It is smaller and stiffer than the Aqualizer and does not stay in place. 1Too small seems dangerous.I like the idea of these but the fact is they are to small, even for my small mouth. There seems to be a real concern of accidentally swallowing these. My husband refused to try these based on the size he said OH I will swallow this and choke!! Anyway I have a stack of them now and they are just unusable. I'm sad.1BEST dental grind guards out there! I love these dental grind guards!! I have tried most every kind out there, and these Plackers are the absolute best in my opinion. I've used these for years, and was so happy to see them here for such a reasonable price. No boiling, shaping, molding etc. And I found all of those kinds so bulky in my mouth, I eventually wound end up throwing them across the room because they felt like I had a mouthful of marbles in the night. These are just thin little flexible universally sized guards that work on either top or bottom teeth, are very comfortable and fit well, and stay in the mouth easily all night. I can't even tell I'm wearing them when I am sleeping. I end up getting a couple week's wear out of each one rather than their suggested 3-5 days, as I find they don't wear down easily. They come individually wrapped in a little plastic "tray" which I use to store them every day, and for travel (if you don't peel the top flap all the way off). I'm a terrible nighttime grinder, and these have really saved my teeth! 5Not like the ones in stores. These appear to be a cheap knock off of the originals. The outside packaging looked like the original, but was used/slightly damaged. The individual packages that the teeth guards are packaged in are NOT Like the store bought ones. They have no marking on the foil at all, in the picture for the listing you can clearly see each piece has printed foil, like the ones I can get in a store. These also do not last nearly as long and have several spots that are slightly sharp and rub on the gums making them quite uncomfortable. I'll be buying locally in stores from now on. 1I cannot understand how people can keep these in place ... I cannot understand how people can keep these in place. They are very flimsy and do not stay in place at all. 1My dentist said "do not use" I have a night mouth guard that my dentist made. I began grinding my teeth during the day and thought this product would be helpful for daytime use. When I had my dental appointment, I mentioned what I had been wearing. My dentist told me to use my night mouth guard during the day rather than rely on this product. He said the pressure points could change my bite and cause damage that would result in orthodontic work. So I use my night mouth guard all the time except when eating. Seek advice from your dentist before purchasing. 1Coming back to these I ve tried several different types of night guards. Including the expensive dentist made ones and have literally bit through them. I decided I m not spending $500+ on something that I bite through. So, after trying moldable guards and other brands of disposable guards, I m back to these. The reason is because 1) these keep my teeth from touching 2) I clench and grind to the point where I create sores on my back gums 3) I wake up with neck pain 4) after numerous nights of going without a guard, I experience ear pain 5)these guards are smaller and they don t make me gag 6)they re disposable 7)they re discreet 8)they re reasonably priced, and finally, I don t wake up in the middle of the night with it hanging out of my mouth.I give it 4 stars because they re a bit thin. But, overall, these are my go to night guards. 4Flimsy and dangerous Very flimsy and do not stay on my teeth. I'm too afraid I would choke on this to wear one at night. 1My dentist said you shouldn't use these if you are a clencher.Bought these once my dentist attributed my cracked tooth to clenching. Wore them for one month. Went back to see the dentist with more pain and he said this device is definitely just for grinders. He then told me it actually makes clenching worse and that only full mouth or anterior mouth splints should be used for clenchers. Perhaps it's an excellent product for grinders, but definitely is not made for clenchers and ended up making my problem worse--not better.1Might work for you, definitely didn't work for me, don't use without knowing the caveats! These may work for some, but in my case they are not the right solution. Two stars for a consistently quality product and packaging, and overall decent design for some (see below). Though I could usually get the recommended three days out of them, I noticed by the third night they were quite crushed in the middle of the pad.The reason they don't work for me is evidently I'm either a clencher instead of a grinder (as described in other reviews) or due to my bite these are otherwise not suitable for me (I didn't have braces as a child and likely should have). On a recent visit to the dentist, he noticed I'm now wearing down my molars (at the rear of the mouth, right where I bite down on these mouth guards). My dentist said he's never seen this in 30 years of practicing dentistry, which would lead me to conclude these devices are the cause, as my molars don't otherwise touch when I bite down. These may work well for some, and I will say relative to others I've tried I preferred how the Placker's brand seemed less substantial and therefore less of a distraction as you tried to sleep. But I would caution anyone who is self diagnosing bruxing or otherwise unsure of the cause of their grinding/clenching, to use care with these. Once the dentist pointed out the wear on my molars, I now notice I can feel the top tooth is thinner on the bottom edge than the tooth next to it. If I'd kept going I could have ended up chipping a tooth or worse!2Best of all the ones I've tried Best of all the devices I've tried. I was in an accident many yrs ago. The disk in one jaw is gone. I clench and grind my teeth. It's important I don't get wear on my jaw bone. I had a $1,000 acrylic device made many years ago but it broke. Now dentists want $4,000. I've bought several devices on Amazon hoping to find relief. The one that does only front teeth, the one that is soft and you mold just upper teeth, the one that molds upper and lower as one device, and a few others. I was in pain from the first night with each. I thought I'd try these because I couldn't find anything else to try. After the first night I was shocked. Pain went from a 10 to a 3 . I don't wear through them at all. I could wear one for many nights, but after about 5 nights I notice it becomes less rigid and my jaw becomes more painful. But still no wear on the device. I think if the plastic was even harder I could wear one longer. For me about 4 nights is perfect. I put it on my upper jaw. But it can go on upper or lower. On my lower it rubs my gums a bit. It's nice it can be used either way. For me both work, it's just upper is more comfortable. 5Doesnt seem genuine Not genuine product. Look at images. The silver foil has no plackers regular wording on it. Also plackers registered trademark wording is missing on product itself. Also the original genuine one is more smooth and transparent than the one i received. The one i got was rough and molding had little bits here and there sticking out. 1Fine printOne of the warnings declares: Do not use if you are experiencing pain associated with tooth clenching or grinding. What's the point of these if they are not to relieve pain for teeth clenching and grinding?1Would Not Waste My Time Thought these would work, as I travel a lot. They slide around in your mouth and fit nothing like a real nighttime protector. I was told I would receive a refund but never did 1
