Life changing in the best way I wasn't sure I believed the hype about this razor but I figured, for the price, it was worth a shot to combat my chronic bikini area razor burn issues. Let me tell you, I will NEVER go back to shaving my bikini area with a razor again. This product is fantastic! The pop up trimmer handled some of the longer hairs very well, I just used that all over first. Then the foil shaver got a nice smooth shave. No bumps or nicks like I used to get from shaving with a razor. I also tried it on my legs and loved it as well! I'm going to recommend this to all my female friends and will probably purchase some as gifts. I think this is a must have product for every woman! 5Nice for the price even after 18 months--just be nice to the foil! This nice little shaver certainly doesn't give quite as perfect a shave as a decent razor with good shave cream, but with a little bit of care, moving it slowly over the skin, and by going over the heaviest areas twice I can get my legs good and smooth and make my pits look as good as they're going to at my age. The double-ended cleaning brush (long soft bristles on one end and short stiff bristles on the other) makes cleaning easy. Honestly, I wasn't sure I'd be happy with a cheap electric shaver after decades of using five blade Venus razors, and I'm sure there are much better ones out there, but between the low price, being able to shave anytime, wasting less hot water, and feeling smug about saving a TON on blades and high quality shave cream I'm really happy with my purchase.A tip if you're switching from a standard razor: make sure that you're pressing the foil against your skin, not the trimmer or the edge of the head. It took a few shaves for me to realize that the rough results I got at first we caused by my lifelong habit of tilting one side of a razor against my leg, but I played with the angles a bit and found that laying the foil as flat as possible against my skin and moving the shaver fairly slowly gives me the best shave. I don't use it in the shower because it doesn't seem to work any better or worse than dry, so I can't testify to how well it works wet.I was a little worried about the battery because of some negative reviews, but it has held up for a year and a half and I can easily shave my moderately hairy legs and armpits twice before the blades slow down. I do charge it the full recommended 24 hours after it starts to run down because that's what the maker recommends, and if I decide to use the razor for a week or two for some reason I top the charge off before using it again.I never had it catch at my skin or pull hair--at least until last week, when my thumb slipped when I got distracted while cleaning the head and the foil was almost pushed right out of its frame. I managed to lift the foil up with a small sewing needle and coax most of its edge back under the frame, so it still works okay, but because the foil got creased and there are now some gaps along its edges it snags a hair a few times per shave. It turns out that Panasonic sells replacement foil for less than ten dollars with free shipping, but at Amazon's current price a new shaver is just five dollars more so, I'm buying another and will save the old one in case the new one gives me any trouble.Bottom line: a highly recommended solution for those who aren't inclined to pay a fortune for a fancy-shmancy shaver. 5This is a life saver for someone who hates shaving! This is a life saver for someone who hates shaving! I apologize for the long review beforehand, but I promise you, the details will help you make an informed purchase!------------------------------------------ BACKGROUND------------------------------------------------------I'm used to getting my legs, arms, arm pits etc. waxed professionally once a month, back when I was in India. When I moved to the US, I realized how super expensive it is to get it done here, especially on a student budget! I tried waxing at home but there were always difficult patches which would turn sore and red because I couldn't hold the skin taut. Hence, like every one else, I started shaving! The problem was that I had never shaved before. Maybe once or twice in high school but that too when my mother was supervising me. I hated it. I hated spending extra time in the shower. I hated that it had to be done more often. I hated the cuts and razor burns. I tried shaving my arms once and it was a disaster. That's when I thought that I should probably look up electric shavers, and I found this one!------------------------------------------ REVIEW------------------------------------------------------Close shave:I think the main issue most people face with electric shavers is getting a close shave. If done right, this can give a close shave. Hold the shaver perpendicular to the surface, so that the foil and both side of the trimmer are touching your skin. The trick is to go back and forth several times over the same area. There is a little bit of a spring action, so that you can, very gently, press it down on your skin, giving a closer shave. If you have longer hair, apply some baby powder and run a dry towel across the area in the direction opposite to the hair growth to lift the hair up. If you have really long thick hair (or if you are a guy shaving his legs), use the pop up trimmer to trim first.Battery life: Even though it said that it needs to be charged for 12 hours before the first use and between every use, I used it right out of the box to test it out on a small patch. It shaved well. I decided to wait 24 hours just to make sure I'm not getting any reaction, and charged it in the mean time. The blades did spin faster. So I believe it's a good idea to charge it between shaves. The manual says that 12 hours of charging gives about 20 minutes of shave, which sounds ridiculous at first. However, it took me, the amateur shaving person, 10 to 12 minutes to shave both legs, both arms and underarms. I think 20 minutes is more than enough.Wet shaving:UPDATEAfter a few months if use, I tried out wet shaving and I loved it. It became my preferred method over dry shaving. Since there was no risk of cuts like a regular razor, my main issue of not being able to see in the shower with my glasses on was no longer a concern. I could go over the same area multiple times. Being in the shower already meant I could quickly rinse off the shaver instead of brushing the hair off after every section, and allowed me to get a better shave overall.I used some shower gel or soap, not shaving cream. I found that keeping the skin and the shaver super wet and slippery helped it glide on the skin easily. I shaved against the direction of hair growth to get a good close shave. This method took me maybe a few minutes lesser than dry shaving. Before the update: ___________________________Since I hated shaving, I don't think this is a feature I want to try. The manual says I can use this with some shaving cream, and I lot of reviews say that your skin needs to be soaking wet to shave. If I ever do try it, I will update this. I think it's unnecessary to wet shave when I'm getting very good results shaving it dry, however, I feel it's a good feature to have in case that's your only option, for example, if your sharing a hotel room with friends and don't have the privacy.___________________________Regrowth: Surprisingly, the regrowth was not as blunt as normal shaving, which is what gave me the confidence to shave my arms! You do have to let it grow a little longer than usual to shave well.Cleaning: It is extremely easy to clean. It comes with a dual ended brush to brush of hair during the shave. After I am done shaving, I pop the head off and rinse both, the head and the blades inside in water. It's a good idea to press your finger onto the faucet so that it gives out a sharp forceful stream. I first rinse the head, then put a some hand soap in some water in a cup, and leave the head in that to soak while I clean the blades inside. I first rinse the blades in the sharp stream, then I dunk the blade only in the cup full of soap water and swish it around, and then rinse both the head and the blades. I use a q tip to get into the corners of the plastic inside. To dry off, I sort of shake both the parts vigorously so that the water falls out, put the top back on to protect the blade, and leave it to air dry for a few hours. Once I know it's fully dry, I put it for charging.Ergonomics: For dry shaving and washing, it's very easy to hold. It fits well in my small hands and doesn't slip out of my grip. I don't know if the surface will become slippery if you're shaving wet with shaving cream. The placement of the buttons is good so that you can start and stop the shaver or open and close the pop trimmer with the thumb of the hand you're holding it with. I believe the design is good for both, right handed and left handed people. The side of the the blade is big enough for quick shaves, and small enough to get around difficult areas.Portability: If you have the right case to carry it in, it's easily portable. The case that comes with it is too small to fit both the shaver and the charger. This is my only complaint. Other than that, it's not too bulky and heavy to travel with.Longevity: Only time will tell. I have had it only for a few weeks and used it 3-4 times, and so far it's great. The blade and the foil are replaceable, so that's a good think. Other than that, if you read the manual, follow the instructions, keep it clean and charge it timely, you're doing everything on your side to maintain the product. If anything goes wrong or I face any issues, I will come back and update this.Overall, I think it's a good product, very affordable (I bought it for 14.99, the original price is 29.99, which is still great if it lasts for more than a year), it does the job well without nicks and cuts, and it is FAST!If you found this review helpful, give it a thumbs up! If you have any questions, please comment below and I will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge. Have a great day! :) 5Charger My razor just arrived. I wanted to get it charging right away but discovered that the razor attaches right to the charger, no cord. In my bathroom, the outlet is right below my medicine cabinet so I can't plug it in there. It won't be a big problem to charge it somewhere else but I didn't see where anyone else mentioned that. 4Not water proof at all. Terrible, not waterproof at all. Maybe ok if you don't use it in the shower but it failed in about a month. Wife was saying it just kept dying really fast. Took the blade out and the top cover and noticed water inside the mechanism. That right there told me it was toast. Proceeded to take it apart and found rust and water through out the assembly and green rust. See pictures. Bad design. Luckily Amazon had amazing customer service and they refunded my money and because it is a razor they told me to keep it. It's going in the trash. 1NOT for lady parts. Maybe legs. If you are looking to use this on your:Mons pubis, bikini, down there, downstairs, pubes, pubic hair, and other ways of beating around the BUSH rather than just saying vagina (is that allowed on this website) or vaginal area or what have you..Look elsewhere. Seriously. If you're just trimming, I don't know, maybe it'll work. If you're trying to keep it Brazilian-bare, it's not gonna happen. It's terrible. 1Not perfect, but it's THE BEST, and here's why.... I keep looking for the perfect, silver-bullet. magic shaver, which is like looking for Bigfoot or the perfect spouse. It ain't gonna happen, baby. But similar to my wonderful but slightly flawed husband, this shaver is the best to be found. I've tried others, I've spent more, (you're clear here that I'm talking about the shaver, right?), but this is the one I keep coming back to.Why?1) It's for wet or dry use, and it's sturdy. I can use it in the shower or not in the shower. I can drop it into a tub of water without fear of electrocution or ruining the shaver. It's pretty much idiot-proof in that way.2) It gives a close shave smoothly and without nicking, scraping, or inflicting other forms of pain. (Be sure your shaving area is either completely dry or completely wet. Otherwise, it will drag on some in-between dampness. ALSO, make sure the foil shaver head isn't nicked or otherwise damaged--see below. With sort-of-damp skin or nicked foil--my previous statement becomes null & void.)3) It's easy to clean. Pop the head off. Put it under running water while still running. Use the handy ilttle brush around the edges. Either/or/both. Easy-peasy. Contrast & compare Styles II Mini Lady Shaver - USB Charging and Cordless - Silky Smooth Shave For Sensitive To Normal Skin - Dry Type - Ultimate In Convenience and Results - No Skin Irritations which is just cute as all get-out, but can't get into the innards to get the gunk out. A razor will only shave well if it's gunk-less.4) It's cordless and rechargeable--charges easily and holds a charge through a prolonged shaving session.5) It travels well.6) Have you looked at the price of this? It's unbelievably affordable. Why only 4 stars and what keeps it from my ideal of perfection?1) I'd like a closer shave and not having to run the razor back & forth a few times to deforest.... errr... I mean... shave my legs to smoothness. However, I haven't found any other electric razor, regardless of price, that does better than this one. A safety razor is always going to win on this count, but it will also leave me with a few too many layers of skin removed and blood running like a river. I'll stick with the Panasonic.2) You need to be careful with the shaving foil head. It you nick it (such as by dropping it or poking it with something sharp), it's going to be like running a sharp nail up and down your... whatever you're shaving. Ow-ow-owwww! Then you'll need to replace either the head or the whole shaver. (I usually just get a new shaver.) This is probably true of any foil head shaver. Just be careful. That's it. Until "they" make the electric razor that shaves as well as a safety razor without the bloody results, and you see that I have a pre-nup with Bigfoot--the Panasonic ES2207P is the best ladies' electric shaver you're going to find. Period. (If you have found my review helpful, I'd really appreciate if you'd click the "Helpful" button. Thanks so much for reading! Liz) 4Fur be gone! It's springtime and we all know what that means. Time to shave your wooly mammoth legs and go back to putting on the appearance of being a hairless, shiny baby. I've been staring at my legs wondering how in the world I'm going to tame the forest that I cultivated over the winter months and I was terrified. I didn't want to have to spend $30 on razorblades or, god forbid, go get waxed to start off the season right. I didn't want pain, I didn't want hassle. In a brief moment of defeat, I almost ran into the woods to be one with the sasquatch. I purchased this due to the reviews and crossed my fingers. After charging for 24 hours, I decided to give it ago. As I had read, you either need to be fully wet or fully dry, so I decided to go at it fully dry before I hopped in the shower. I used the trimmer part first so that I could get the hair to a manageable length and then went at it full-on. It was so easy, painless, and by god, it did the job. I am not razor-smooth or anything, but I'd be able to go out with shorts on and not be afraid that everyone thinks I'm an ape-woman in disguise. All in-all it took about five-seven minutes.Anyway, it was so easy, I almost never want to use a razor again. I don't care if it feels a bit prickly, I'm more concerned about appearances, and if I'm in a rush out the door the few minutes it would take to run this thing over my legs would be a breeze in comparison to breaking out a razor and cream and cutting myself and drying out my skin.I am no longer a wookie. Thank you, Panasonic. 5Works great if you use it correctly! I've read so many complaints about this and other electric shavers that I thought I ought to clarify a few things and help everyone get a smooth, non-injurious shave.First a heads-up: you will never get quite as smooth with an electric shaver than you will with a razor, but you can get pretty close. For me, this is an advantage because I can shave more often and avoid razor burn, but if you have dark hair and light skin where every tiny bit of stubble shows, then you may want to stick with a razor. Now, on to the actual shaving advice:First of all, friction is responsible for most of your nicks and also for those extremely painful incidents where a small bit of skin gets caught by the shaver. When the blades spin fast, friction is reduced. You need to make sure your shaver is fully charged before you use it. Although this shaver theoretically holds a charge for multiple shaves, I don't advise you to try it. Charge that baby all the way each and every time you use it! If you are using it on your underarms or bikini line, you will probably want to do those areas first, when the shaver is at its most powerful.Second, This is a wet/dry shaver, not a damp shaver. It needs to glide smoothly over your skin, and if your skin is only damp, like from the bath or from sweating in a humid bathroom, it's going to be tacky and the shaver will skip rather than glide, and you will be forced to press down harder to keep contact - this can also cause nicks and cuts. So make sure your skin is either totally wet or totally dry. I do mine after the shower and use a hair-dryer on low to totally dry off my skin before I use it.Finally, unless you are just doing a touch-up shave, you must cut your hair down with the clipper setting before you use the foil. The foil is for cutting very short hair down to skin level, but it is going to catch and pull any hair that is longer. If your hair is long enough to be cut by the clippers, you need to use them first before letting the foil touch your skin.I hope that this advice will give you a wonderfully smooth and satisfying shaving experience with this or any electric shaver you decide to buy. 5It's not a super close touchable shave like a razor would be but ... I took some advisement from previous reviewers and used the extendable blades to pre-trim some of my longer hairs before going for the close shave. It worked quite well but I had to clean it rather frequently (I'm Italian, don't judge). It's not a super close touchable shave like a razor would be but it gets the job done when I want to wear shorts and don't have time for a shower-n-shave. The hair grew back pretty quickly, faster than it does when I razor shave but, again, I'm Italian so that didn't really surprise me. What I really loved about it was the complete and utter lack of razor burn. I used this on my nethers (not just the bikini line folks, the whole caboodle) and it did a fantastic job. No bumps, no itching a day later, no redness or irritation, no ingrown hairs. Love that, love that, love that!My husband also borrowed to use on his face (before I used it on my nethers, I assure you) and he had the same feedback. No razor burn. He was elated. 4
