Five StarsAn excellent product. Recommend to everyone I know5Totally realistic looking This stuff is fantastic! It made VERY realistic scars for me and my children for Halloween. Some scars required as little as 2 coats while the deepest needed up to 9. The smell was no more offensive than nail polish in my opinion and my kids didn't complain either. Both vials that I ordered were full and in liquid state not dried out or half empty as some have mentioned in previous reviews. The attached brush did get dry and clumpy after several applications so I would recommend using a small paint brush or makeup brush you can throw away. I did notice that if applied to an area of the face with a larger amount of "peach fuzz" the edges looked flakey but on smooth skin it was flawless! A great product to add extra depth to our costumes. Well worth the price and the shipping was prompt. 5Very fun product to have in your kit but average results I threw this product into one of my orders not so much because I needed it but because it looked really fun to play with.I like the product but I do find that it takes quite a few coats to get any kind of puckering of the skin. It also (understandably) doesn't really have much affect on areas of your face that don't have a lot of flesh to pull at.I would suggest using some kind of skin barrier with this product. I usually put any product straight on to my face and worry about the effect later and this particular item does irritate my skin a bit. The few times I have used this product is has left me with an irritated red area on my face and sometimes small irritation bumps, which all fade away after a few hours.This product is good for occasional use but I wouldn't over use it. Also, depending on the area of skin you're working with, you can likely get similar effects with shading, coloring, and highlighting. 3Doesn't work for me I tried this on different parts of my face and arms, and it has never worked right. It just sits on my skin and makes it kinda shiny, doesn't cause an indent or anything, even after being layered. Applying makeup over it doesn't make it better. A couple of other reviews say they may have gotten bad or dried out batches or their skin doesn't react as strongly. I guess I'm one of those people. Disappointing because I was hoping to take some of my cosplays to the next level with this, but it failed every time. Still giving it 2 stars because it's probably a product defect and may work well if you get a good batch. 2GORE-geous I wish it was bigger because I used nearly the whole thing in one scarring session. I don't find the smell as super offensive as some other people do but it isn't pleasant. Layering 10-15 thin coats took about 10-15 mins and made beautifully believable scarring on my face. It is VERY painful to remove off of facial peach fuz. eek! BUT still worth it! 5So real, it freaks people out This product is used to create realistic scars for effects makeup. This past Halloween, my teenage daughter used it as part of her costume, which was based on a videogame character, so her clothing looked quite normal. People at school were afraid to ask her about her face, because they didn't want to offend her or seem insensitive! And at the market after school, one woman pushed her cart into a checkout stand, not watching where she was going because she was staring at my daughter so hard! We had a good laugh about that one. The product is easy to use, but you do need a colored makeup pencil (in a pink/red tone) to create the realistic color of a fairly fresh scar, and foundation/powder to set it. Removal is not that easy, although it just requires peeling off the product. The stuff smells horrible when wet. I don't think it'd be good for your skin to use it all the time, but for occasional use, it works really well. 4Scars that Scare! Amazing - I never knew this existed until doing some research on "realistic scars" This stuff is the BOMB for scars. Draw a very light line with a red/red brown eyeliner or even a red Halloween makeup crayon. Then paint on the line.. it draws the skin together and looks very real.. another coat and another.. the more coats the deeper/darker the scar is.The only drawback is that if you put it in a location that moves much (eyebrow, back of hand, knee, elbow) it will not last very long before it begins to flake.Put it on arms or head or even the right places on the forehead it lasts quite well and looks AWESOME - I won the costume contest (Viking) and I'm sure the scars played a big part. one trick.. if you are going to put it on a place that has hair.. shave it first..it doesn't work well over hair- you may have to suffer a little bit for your art but you'll find it well worth it in the long run (scars don't grow hair so it just makes it more authentic) 5Easy to apply, awesome effect. Easy to apply, provides great effect for cheap. Mehron products are always a winnder. In this pic this is after 10 hours of wearing the coloddion on my face, so the teeny bit of lift at the edges is to be expected. I really love this product and will order for another scarred cosplay I'll be doing soon. I only wish it was in a larger bottle, as this is a tiny one and I will go through it quickly as the next character I do has much larger scars on the face. 5Surprisingly Nice I got this as a back-up plan for cosplay Todoroki if the latex my friend had didn't work well. Turns out, combining the two together gives me a pretty bad-ass scar that looks like I was burned with hot water myself. It dries quickly and while I do wish it held colour from make-up a little better, overall, it does a great job. I didn't expect too much from something I frequently see at Halloween City, but I am happy to report I was quite wrong. 5Warning!!! This is a great product, but remember to be careful when using it. Wait for the layers to fully dry before applying another layer and consider getting spirit gum remover to take it off instead of peeling it off. If you peel it off do not apply it again in the same place as you risk getting actual scarring. If you have it on for a long time be prepared to have a red indent in the same location for quite awhile (days). 4A MUST HAVE for Your SFX Makeup Kit! BEYOND IN LOVE! At first, I was very wary of this product because when I had first purchased and it shipped to me, I tested it on my inner forearm and had little to no scar look on my wrist! Of course, it wasn't working as I don't have quite the amount of skin there as needed to make this, it is my fault but I have never used this product before, so I had no clue. I found out that my face worked the best with the rigid collodion (especially on the chubbier parts of my cheek!) I am very impressed with this product, and how it works. I do wish I bought the bigger bottle of it, but I plan on doing that next time I purchase this stuff. Fair warning: my skin did tingle (burnt slightly) when using this. However, I do believe this was my skin tensing up in the area to create the scars. The smell is not pleasant, but SFX products don't smell like flowers and coffee shops anyways. In an honest opinion, this product is one of the best for first time SFX artists. Highly recommended!(Picture included was a quick test of the product, no makeup done around or in the fake scar to show how well the product works on its own!) 5
