This stuff works amazing! Last year we used the fairy take spray ...This stuff works amazing! Last year we used the fairy take spray and my girls never got lice but this year I decided to get the shampoo set too for extra protection since there was a big lice outbreak in her class and this seems to help using this set and the spray , they are both lice free all year.5THIS STUFF WORKS !!!I had 3 children staying in my home who had lice. Not one of my 3 children got lice from them and it has to be fairytales shampoo and conditioner. There was a span of time that i stopped using it on my kids and one of my daughters got lice from being around a girl who had it for less than an hour! I highly recommend this product !!5I use this product every time I wash my children's ... I use this product every time I wash my children's hair and use the detangling spray before school EVERY SINGLE DAY as Lice was a huge FEAR of mine. Well you guessed it, they both got lice. I will no longer be purchasing your product. I want to use some expletives but will choose to keep it clean. Fairy tales does NOT prevent lice. PERIOD 1Works greatWe have been struggling with lice in our house for quite some time now, with three daughters how have long and thick hair it seemed like a never ending battle.Using this along with the Licefree spray has really been a life saver! This product is gentle enough to use daily, especially on the girls scalp and has a pleasant smell to it as well. The only thing I wish is that both the shampoo and conditioner were the same ounces. This comes with 12 oz of shampoo and 8 oz of conditioner. All in all I would highly recommend!5Good product, but lice are inevitableMy daughter had become susceptible to the hair lice being passed around at school because her hair is so squeaky clean and shiny the little critters love it! After getting it twice in her short 7 years, I bought this for preventative measures. I'm sure it helped keep them at bay the remainder of the time (since all they do is get passed around over and over) but it isn't 100% effective. She still caught them a 3rd time. It does leave the hair manageable and shiny, but she didn't quite care for the tea tree oil smell.4Nice every now and thenBought this for my daughters who have had lice scares in the past and since they have very long hair, it is a pain in the butt to fight lice! It has been great to use when we believe there is another lice scare, but it seems to leave their scalp very dry, which makes us think the flakes are lice eggs....another scary moment until we realize they are just dealing with dry scalp. It's not a product we can let them use every time they take a shower, but it's nice to have in case we have another scare!3Cap unscrewed, huge shampoo wasted mess The product itself is great, and we love it, but from now on I'm buying it in store. The cap was unscrewed on the bottle of shampoo, and it made a huge mess inside the bag. Not to mention, for as pricy as this shampoo is, I don't want to pay for only half a bottle. I wish I had paid better attention to reviews, because this seems to be a common issue now with this seller. I ordered back in the summer and it arrived perfectly intact, so not sure why they can't check the bottles to make sure the caps are not loose now! 1This stuff saved us from infestation We went through an awful period dealing with lice. I would treat my little girl with the insecticide that the doctor recommended, which I was horrified to use. Then spend an hour with the nit comb doing our very best and a week later see the dreaded little black bugs. Every Saturday night for a month this went on. Finally, I ordered the Fairy Tales lice treatment pack (sold separately), spent the hour combing through with a much better nit comb that was included with the kit. Then we sprayed the conditioning spray every morning before school and washed her hair 2-3 times a week with the Rosemary Repel shampoo. I have yet to see a bug since switching. Plus, it smells good. I wish I would have found this stuff before I subjected myself and my little girl to so much medically recommended insecticide. 5Lice Twice with Three Toddlers I have 3 toddlers, who all attend preschool. They've all got lice twice from school and myself once from sleeping next to my son when he was sick. After having bought the fairy tale shampoo and conditioner we haven't had anymore lice. I use the shampoo and conditioner about 3 times a week on all three of them. The bottles have lasted me about 8 months and I still have 1/4 of both bottles left! Love this product! 5I was a "Desperate Louse-Wife" We have not had an issue with lice since we started using Fairly Tales Shampoo. After multiple outbreaks in my kids school, I did a ton of research on dealing with lice and lice prevention. If you are at your wits end and are about the line your family up and shear them like a heard of sheep, read on....Here is what I have found to work for me:Personal Experience - My kids are now 8 & 10. I have dealt with lice twice once when my daughter was 5 (with one recurrence two weeks later) and once when she was 7. The second time around I learned a new tactic that prevented a recurrence (daily combing with a lice comb for three weeks). Last school year I added daily doses of prevention spray to the mix. I also added tea tree oil to everything! Both my kids are sick of the smell of tea tree oil! Lice do not care about what kind of house we live in, our economic status, our level of cleanliness etc... In fact, lice actually prefer clean hair because they can move around more freely. While we can't prevent being exposed to lice, there are some simple and effective steps we can take to prevent constant outbreaks and recurrences in our families and classrooms. 1. Get a Professional Steel Lice & Nit Comb Most professionals use and recommend the Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb (Available on Amazon). There are others available, but it is the top rated nit and lice comb out there.2. Use Your Lice Comb Weekly & All-Year Regardless If You See Lice or Nits.According to lice professionals, this is the most important prevention technique we can ever do because it is extremely easy to miss lice and nits, especially if an outbreak is in the early stages. If your child has been around someone with lice or there is a known outbreak at school, bump up your combings to two or three times a week to catch early infestations (Note: when I say combings, I am always referring to using a steel nit & lice comb). If your child is prone to getting lice and there are known outbreaks, bump up the combings to daily until the outbreaks have totally cleared. If your child has just been treated for lice, it is extremely important to: - Do daily combings for at least two weeks following treatment. One of the reasons for this is lice leave behind a sent that attracts more lice. Also, if you have missed any nits, you will have a new case of lice all over again and daily combing catches things early. Re-infestation is extremely common for several weeks after an initial treatment is done. -After two weeks, if nits and/or lice are not found during combings for at least two consecutive days, you can go down to two or three times a week and then once a week for maintenance if no re-infestations occur within the month. Use prevention products such as the Fairy Tales Line, Licelogic ( both on Amazon) You can also make your own prevention spray by adding tea tree oil (5 drops to 1 ounce) to your kids shampoo, conditioner, detangler and hairspray. Spray your kids hair right before school or any event where they will be around other children. Have girls wear their hair up in a bun or in a tight braid during a known outbreak.Speak to your kids about the importance of not sharing brushes, hats or other hair accessories.Increase your prevention tactics (combing, treatment shampoo, spray etc...) right after kids return to school from any break (summer, Christmas, spring etc..)Ramp up your prevention efforts after travel, vacation, sleepovers, camps, visits from cousins or any new group your kids are exposed to.More Information On CombingSpending ones time and energy actually doing a careful and thorough combing is a far better method than doing weekly head-checks alone. It is very important to learn how to use the lice comb correctly so it is effective at removing all the nits and lice. A short video that I found helpful is by a company called Lice Control. The most important thing to remember about effective combing is to divide the hair into small sections and comb each section from all directions. This means you comb it from the top down, from the bottom up, from right to left and left to right. Make sure the tips of the comb stays on the scalp across the entire section before you pull the hair through the comb.Head ChecksNote: Again, I want to make the point that it is important to know how to do a thorough head check, but current thinking is that combing with a lice comb is far more important than just checking. That said, it is still important to know how to do thorough head-checks. When a child is sent home with lice, many parents will say that they just did a lice check and are shocked to learn the lice are in full party mode on their child's hear. The truth is, they probably missed the early signs several days before. Unless a child has an advanced case of lice, the chances of actually seeing lice or nits in a 30-second head check is rare. A careful lice-check takes several minutes or more depending on the length and thickness of the hair. Because of this, it is not feasible for teachers to take time out the the school schedule to do thorough lice checks. Typically teachers will do checks if there is a known outbreak in the classroom, but parents need to be the ones taking prevention seriously as there is only so much a school can do.The best place to do do a head-check is outside in bright sunlight. If that is not possible, use a spotlight. I usually have my daughter put her head down on a table, part her hair down the middle and divide it into sections. Then, using a rat-tail comb I go through each section, examining one paper-thin row at at time. This will take me 5 to 10 minutes, but she has long, thick hair. My son has short, fine hair so it takes me just a couple minutes to go through his hair. On average, a careful lice-check can be done in just a few minutes if you know what you are looking for.Nits - are attached to one side of a single piece of hair near the scalp. They are about the size of a poppy seed (or smaller) and are oval in shape. They range in color from white (already hatched) to yellow, tan, brown or dark brown. It is very easy to mistake sand, dirt, dry skin or other things caught in the hair for nits. Remember that nits are always "glued" to a single piece of hair, therefore will not easily move.Lice are about the size of a sesame seed but can vary in color and be various shades (light or dark) tan, yellow, brown or reddish. They also vary in size depending where there are in their life-cycle.The pesticide-based products (like Rid & Nix) are no longer effective. The professionals now use enzyme based products for their initial treatment (available with all the product lines I mentioned above). Some people have found treatments with coconut or olive oil mixed with tea tree oil to be very effective at killing the lice (not the nits). This method involves saturating your child's hair with the mixture, working it through the hair, covering it with a plastic cap and sleeping in it.The most important part of treating lice (regardless of your initial treatment method) is to learn to use your lice comb correctly and comb every day for two to three weeks. If you are not diligent with combing, you will most likely have constant recurrences .This is an area where five minutes of prevention every day can save hours of dealing with an infestation.-- 5Keeps the lice awayMy kiddo has been using this daily for the last couple months and we haven t had lice come home yet. There have been quite a few outbreaks at her school, even one in her class. We will keep using it whenever she is in school just for the peace of mind.It s pretty smelly (essential oils, not bad just not my daughters favorite) but as soon as her hair dries the scent is gone. She says it doesn t leave her hair as soft as her normal shampoo and conditioner - that s why only 4 stars. I feel like it s pretty drying to her scalp too4So far so good!So far so good! My daughter is in Kindergarten and I just knew it was a matter of time before lice hit our house. After several treatments and lots of stress, they were finally gone for good. Of course, I immediately jumped on to look up prevention tips and products. I decided to give these a try. They seem to work great as we haven't had an issue since we started using them! It smells great thanks to all of the essential oils in it, and it makes my daughters hair look great!5Hoping for Prevention!I wasn t expecting the smell to be as strong as it was but other than that everything was great. My daughters hair actually tangled less than it normally does. A child in her class has lice and a paper was sent home with her that everyone needed to look into prevention techniques and discuss prevention with their children so I bought this and I really hope it Works. She has really long hair and we would hate to have to cut it off due to lice exposure. So glad there is a prevention shampoo!5Kids love it!Bought this for the ever-anxiety inducing back to school day! We wanted to make sure that our kiddos didn't bring home any critters, and so far so good! We use this during the week and on Sundays before the kids return to school. It's just one way to help lessen our chances of having an even bigger problem on our hands! The shampoo and conditioner have a strong smell but to be honest that is what we expected as we WANT IT TO DETER THE BUGS! It smells good and isn't unpleasant at all. We are happy and bug free (so far so good)!5Bad Batch Don t Buy ...usually great...Not this one We ve been buying this for years and have always been happy. BUT we ran out of our old bottle today while doing my daughters hair and this most recent purchase, (purchased on 8/8) I used today (8/24) on my daughters hair, smelled like chemicals not rosemary and was super sticky... my hands are sticking together and her hair was really sticky. Something is wrong with this batch. I would not advise buying this spray right now...Wait to buy until they figure this out. 1No lice here! After the second notice home this year from the nurse that there was lice going around the school I decided to get proactive with preventing it. We got lucky that neither of my kids picked it up the first two times and I had no desire to deal with it. They use Fairy Tales Rosemary Repel Creme Shampoo (and my daughter uses the conditioner as well) several times a week. Several months later and neither one has had lice, despite it going around the school a couple more times. My daughter has medium-length fine hair that tends to tangle easily. Since using this conditioner, her hair has been easier to manage and doesn't knot as badly. Double-win.My only negative is the scent. My son has complained that he doesn't like the way it smells and the smell is too strong. I don't think it has an unpleasant scent, but it is a little strong, especially for a product that kids are going to be using.5Works! I've used this product religiously on my children for years now. We've had multiple lice scares in the past, so far, no lice. The smell is strong, but not unpleasant. It smells exactly what the essential oils in this product would smell like. Predominantly Rosemary I think. I use the entire line on my children, shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioning spray. I spray their clothes, backpacks, jackets, hats, scarves, the whole 9 yards. So far so good. Added bonus, strangely enough, I've noticed that it has also been keeping the mosquitoes off of them. 5Still got liceStarted to Use on kindergartner daily when class outbreak occurred. Along with spray. She still got lice. Product is fine by all other accounts but can t say I recommend.1Smells amazing, but you need to rinse it for quite a whileI wasn't sure how a rosemary shampoo wouldn't smell like a delicious roast chicken, but rosemary is a delightfully clean scent, and my kid's hair smells really good. We had another shampoo/conditioner set that would leave her hair looking oily, but this one keeps her hair looking soft and clean for two days. The only reason I took 1 star off is because the shampoo is ridiculously difficult to rinse out. It's like that prank where that guy hides behind a wall at the public outdoor showers at the beach and adds more shampoo to people washing their hair when they're not looking. (look it up on that video website that I'm not sure I can mention here. Search for shampoo prank. You won't regret it.) The first few times we used it. we kept having to turn the shower back on to rinse her hair more. Now we know we just have to rinse it for quite some time.As far as how well it works on keeping lice at bay, we're not sure. She hasn't had a lice exposure notice come home from her school yet, so we have nothing to base it on. But it's a good shampoo regardless, it makes her hair look great, and I'll be buying it in the future.4Love this so much, we use it daily! We have survived one lice outbreak in school by using this product as a detangler daily, and I've used it ever since. My children have extremely long hair ranging from straight to very curly. This works on all of them, both for detangling and lice prevention. The scent is wonderful, clean and subtle without the musk of some essential oils. We've reordered and reordered, it's a staple in our house, two of my friends are now using it for their children after experimenting with our stash. The bottle and spray lid work so well, I've repurposed them for other products that don't spray well enough.Shipping has always been perfect, it arrives exactly when expected, is tightly wrapped and padded, and not one bottle has leaked.Try it! You won't be disappointed. 5Stop stressing and make the purchaseIf you are dealing with lice let me tell you, you NEED this. I got this for my daughter as a preventative measure for the school year. She didn't use it. She got lice. Bad. Checked my son and nothing. Went to use it on her hair after her treatment and found the bottles half empty. So I asked her if she wasn't using it why so much was missing. My son chimes in and says "oh I use that everyday, it smells good". That being said, they are very close and I was sure he had to have SOMETHING in his hair until he told me that. The relief I felt of not having to pick at two kids was unmeasurable. I now use it, and my daughter does too because she now knows how miserable it is. This is not a treatment. This will not rid you of lice. But I have seen it keep lice off of a kid who couldn't be any closer to somebody infested. I treated her, used this to wash and checked her everyday after and we are free. I just recently purchased the biggest bottles I could because we are almost out. Best money I have ever spent on Amazon to never have to go through that nightmare ever again.5Works.Bought this when we found our our daughter had lice. We treated with the chemical and then used this and have been using for over a month. We will continue to use. Using this instead of washing linings daily is worth it. We only used the chemical products because it was a first for us and we panicked. Also, we have the hair detaingler my daughter loves the smell of all it, she s 6. We haven t had and issue with lice since the initial scare back at the end of September.5Great productThis product has multi purpose benefits. Few years ago my son had a terrible smell on his scalp (no dandruff or irritation). He played baseball and it just smelled like he never showered. A girl at ULTA told me to try this product because of it s ingredients. First wash and he was squeeky clean no smell. Now my youngest is going to kindergarten and I am ready with this shampoo because it is a natural replellant and I am not taking chances. Younger childern classes are a hotzone for germs and head lice. This product does not dry out their hair, it feels soft and I think it smells great. Like those tea tree clarifiers or Biolage scalp sync, that I personally use. I think it is a must have for young kids and it s a great value on amazon.5
