Customer Reviews

Best eyebrow pencil- consistent buyerI m always skeptical about eyebrow pencils because usually they are too dark and look unnatural. This product is amazing because you can apply it very light, and build up darkness if needed. It has chalk like texture to it and it lasts longer then other pencils i have tried. Super affordable and the grey-brown looked great when I was both blonde and brunette. Highly recommend!5Best Taupe Eyebrow Pencil Out There I have fair skin with pink undertones, and without filling my eyebrows in they're a grey brown in general. Therefore, to fill them in I need a grey brown eyebrow pencil. But here's the thing, in America, it's hard to come by in drugstores and in stores like Ulta and Sephora. And you won't get a bang for your buck if you do. It's always lacking in some way, either longevity or pigment. With this, I don't have to worry about it at all! This is my 4th time that I repurchased this product, not because it goes by quick, but because I've been using it for so long. I even took it with me to Japan last year. 1 pencil lasts me about 6 months worth if not more, it depends on how frequently I fill in my brows. Which is pretty frequent. But it's perfect with the spooly and the shape of the pencil to naturally fill it in without it being too heavy. It's super easy to use, very nicely pigmented, and bang for a buck. 5Best purchase ever. I love it! it works the same with anastasia eyebrow pencil! easy to blend and it looks more realistic i'll order more! 5MUCH RE-DRAWING NEEDED! Tedious. Frustrating to use. In the minus column, despite all the praise this pencil garnered, I found it a nuisance to draw a natural-looking brow because I had to keep going over the same area to get any decent coverage. The pencil just didn t take well to the brow hairs and meld properly.Maybe it s not pigmented enough but it was annoying to keep at it for more than 2 full minutes. I only had some stray gaps to fill in.If you keep at it, you ll get there. Eventually. This does NOT give a natural look to one s brows. If you like a heavier, Fifties-style Audrey brow, this may work for you. What a pity because I really like the wider choice of shades in this Etude House brow pencil. Grey Brown is a realistic tint for many of us who fall between mid-brown and darker tints. The built-in spoolie brush was nice but still didn t help to distribute the brow tint. Can t see myself buying this again, unfortunately.Thank you for making time to read this review. Hope it helped you in the great brow-pencil search! 2Here's what I found....First, important to know is that I have white hair. Anyone with white hair knows it's hard to find the perfect brow color. I've tried brown, gray, gray-brown and all were "ok", but then I found this Etude House (my favorite brand) in #7 Light Brown, and oh wow, it is perfect! I'm so darn glad I ordered 2 because this will be the right one, day or night, for the rest of my days. The color, if you can imagine this, is between a blond, a light brown, and has the barest hint of a gray. Try it, you'll love it and it's buildable as well. I am so happy I found this and hope they never stop making it.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Updating: Darn. First, the good: it's buildable and that's great, but so are all the Etude brow pencils. The bad: as I've used it more, there is TOO much yellow in it. I am going back to the gray-brown and the gray. Lordy, getting older is hard.5I like it so much I ordered a second pencil in the same colorThis works very well for me. As a pale-skinned, natural red-head who has now gone silver-gray, I ve struggled to find the right brow color and the right product to fill in sparse brows that are also turning silver. The auburn brow gel I used for years while still a red-head no longer worked at all with my silver hair and the taupe and blonds I tried did not look good either. I was skeptical about trying a charcoal gray brow pencil for fear it would be too dark, but to my surprise this brow pencil is PERFECT for me! I even ordered a second pencil to keep in my purse. It s easy to use, goes on smoothly and stays on fairly well. I do sometimes reapply or touch-up later in the day. I wish they had a companion brow gel or mascara to go with this color.5Thought this was a different productI must not have looked at the photo of the product carefully, because I thought this was the one with the 4-pronged "brush" that deposits a liquid or gel that can be applied in hair-like strokes. Only when it arrived do I realize that the photo of the tip of this eyebrow pencil is a little confusing (IF you don't look carefully, and I didn't.) That said, reviews on the brush/gels aren't that great, and for the price this pencil gives just a little definition to my fading 62 yr old brows. The pencil doesn't smudge at all and even lasts until I use lotion or cream to take it off. My goal isn't to have brows like a Kardashian, just a little something something. For just over $4 this is a good deal.4I'll be re-ordering this!I am in my mid-40s with (prematurely) full-on silver hair which I love and do not dye, but it makes finding an eyebrow product challenging. My brows are still totally brown, a dark, ash brown, but see-through and sparse since I hit my 40s. My coloring is low contrast - I have fair skin and blue eyes. (I have been color analyzed a "soft summer")THIS is the brow product I'll be re-ordering, the No. 5 Grey, which is their light gray shade.I tried many, many brow products, both pencil and powder. The problem is that they are nearly all either too dark or too warm. Almost all brown, taupe, or blond brow products go orange on me. Not a match. The cooler dark brown, soft black, and charcoal gray products I tried are just too dark for my soft coloring. Looks like I drew my brows on with a Sharpie black marker.Etude House's light gray pencil is truly gray - almost too cool for me but preferable to the many too warm shades. Even though it's "light" it does darken my natural brows a bit. The color really isn't a perfect match to my brows themselves, but it does match my hair color pretty nicely. The tip of the texture is angled but "fat" - if you're looking for a precision pencil to draw on individual hairs, this is not for you! You are not going to be able to create those on fleek, Instagram brows with this pencil. I think of it more like a shadow for my brows - adding that shadow gives my sparse brows a more filled-in, healthy look. I prefer a more natural makeup look, as opposed to a makeup-y look, so this works for me. It's pretty easy to use - just scribble in your brows and then use the convenient spoolie on the other end to comb through your brows and soften the look. It's a twist-up pencil, so no sharpener needed. The texture is pretty hard and waxy, as expected. I like my brow pencil hard and waxy. It does fade somewhat by the end of a long day, but it doesn't run or smear on me (I live in a cool climate though.) I'm not sure how long it will last or if it will dry out at some point, but I've been using it for about a month so far with no issues.5Old stock! Recvd item today; it would not draw. Seems like old dried out stock! I tried to wipe tip thinking it may have a protective film, but still won't draw. I even pressed hard to test it on my arm and nothing, no color. The fine print said "not accepting returns"! Don't buy from this seller. This sounds like they trying to get rid of their (old) stock. Be warned. 1Great eye brown pencil!I found this product through an online blogger and so glad I did. I have short, curly, white and brown hair and pale blue eyes. Black eye brow pencils are too dark, blond pencils are too "red". My eye brows are too thin after years of over-plucking (child of the 70's!) so it was hard to find something to darken my brows without looking like a made-up old lady! This pencil is perfect! One end is a spiral brush with cover. The other end is the pencil with cover. The slanted "lead" screws up through a slanted opening which is great. Turned flat, It makes fill-in soft and subtle and turned long ways, you can stroke in soft lines if needed. The gray is soft but not too light. Using a little extra pressure you can make it darker if needed. I'm definitely sold and will keep this as my go-to brow pencil!5The perfect brow product!! My absolute favorite brow product I have ever used. I have tried other pencils, gels, waxes, markers, and this one tops them all. The pencil is slanted and all you need to do is twist up to get more product. The product is like a soft pencil, and I describe this to people as how a colored pencil works. You can push down hard with a colored pencil to get a darker and deeper color and lighter to get less color. This pencil is the same. You can do light brush strokes to fill in naturally, or press a little harder when you want to line your brows. Brows look perfect and natural. I have naturally dark hair, so my brows are pretty dark - almost black, but they aren't too thick or bushy and after doing a lot of research on color swatches of these pencils, I went with #2 grey brown. It is perfect! It's like a dark ashy color and fill in my brows without looking too heavy or too light. I have already had 2 friends switch to this brow product after letting them try it. I cannot boast enough about this product. Perfect brows every time. HIGHLY recommend! 5Since I don't need to be fussed about accuracy and finding tools, my brows happen in a quarter of the time I go through phases with preferred products, and was coming off of ABH Dipbrow (Ebony)/Brow Powder (Medium Brown). Wanting a cheaper alternative to Brow Wiz and in the mood to try something new (though NYX's Micro Brow is adequate), I went with Etude House since I'd seen many reviews about how flattering the color is. I'm asian and my natural hair color is more of a medium brown, but I don't like the way warmer tones show up in photos so Grey-Brown was much better. I add powder over it to darken if the rest of my makeup demands more balance. Would repurchase.Pros:-Since I don't need to be fussed about accuracy and finding tools, my brows happen in a quarter of the time.-Price is wonderful, especially with Prime.Cons:-I don't rub my face when I workout or sweat, so can't attest to the staying power in that situation but I reapply before going out at night. It does seem to fade a bit through the day.-The feathery strokes for fake hairs at the front of the brow are difficult to get precise since the tip is thicker. 4I love the color of the gray brown I love the color of the gray brown. However, after using it for many days in a row, I noticed my natural eyebrows seemed thinner. Upon application, you have to push down kind of hard because it is like a dry crayon. This forced me to lose a handful of eyebrow hairs every time I used it, which caused damage overall. Really disappointed it did this because like I said, I loved the color! 2Good color, does not go on easily, is never sharp I really like the color, which is a very cool brown. The pencil, which never needs sharpening, is also never sharp. I prefer to use a sharp pencil. Also, the pencil is not soft, so you have to press hard and go over the same spot repeatedly. The pencil seems to crumble easily, probably because of the pressure required to use it. Basically, the only thing I like about this pencil is the color. ***Update: after many times of the tip breaking off, the pencil was finally gone. Did not last. 2Great Brow Pencil/PenI am Asian with black hair but my brows are kind of sparse. I think this brown color blends in perfectly my brows without being too dark. It's super easy to use and I love the brow brush on the other end. Also love that it's retractable so need to deal with a sharpener! I ended up buying 2 more!5Would make the switch from Brow Wiz but... Works almost as well as my Anastasia Brow Wiz which I ve been using exclusively because nothing else has worked for me. I use this as a back up to keep in case I run out of the Brow Wiz.I do love that it happens to be only a quarter of the cost of the Brow Wiz HOWEVER my biggest and only issue with this is the tip is blunt so it feels like you re filling in your brows with a wide crayon. You can sharpen the edges but that s a hassle. The lead itself is not too smudgy or too orange/Auburn-y (like some of the economic brands) so it blends really well providing a more natural look.I was looking for the dark brown but they d run out. Going through these reviews, I d read the grey brown is similar and so I purchased it figuring it sounded similar to the Brow Wiz Granite. I mean at this price point, it wouldn t be a huge loss if the color ended up not but am happy to confirm that I am pleased with the color. 4On being High-Brow ~~It's tough when you have white hair and don't want black brows, nor dark, dark brown, or even the blond, not to mention the pencils that leave a reddish tint to your brows. Ugh. Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Grey-Brown is wonderful! No red cast to the color and what a perfect shade! I love the angled little brush on one end and the spoolie on the other. Glides on like a dream and when you run through your brows afterward with the spoolie, well! Looks like the perfect brow hairs. The application is so simple and it lasts and lasts --- and that was even through doing yard work on a hot and humid day. This is now my go-to without question. A million thanks to Etude House!5Great product!I love this pencil! I have had to grow up where there was always patches in my eyebrows missing. So from a young age I have been filling them in with something to make them look normal and when this huge eyebrow trend came along it really opened up my eyes that there was more than eyeshadow to do the trick. Ever since discovering the world of eyebrow pencils, I have just been using whatever one I found in Walmart. Recently, I decided I wanted to make my life a little easier and find the right brow filler for me. So I went on a hunt and came across this product on Amazon. It was originally supposed to have two-day shipping, but this came in one day, which was wonderful! Trying it out, I have to say I definitely love the angle of the pencil; it makes it so much easier to apply. Also, this was the color I was expecting. It's not too dark and it gives you a nice color even when lightly pressing on the skin. Overall, this is a great product and I am happy with it so far. It's made my life easier and that is all I really wanted. Something I will watch out for, that I have seen in other reviews, is how quickly this runs out. I will update my review when I find this out!UPDATE: 5/2/17I have found that I have a couple of days use of this pencil left. Overall, it has been a wonderful product and I will be ordering another one as soon as I am finished writing this. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to do their brows easily!5
