Customer Reviews

Great stuff! Slimmer than the slimmest similar Gum brush cleaner, but stronger. Goes easily between almost all of my teeth, and no problems with the brush breaking off as you're using it. 5Absolutely Perfect for Braces, Permanent Retainers, and Also Just Plain, Normal Teeth! I recently finished up having my teeth realigned with Invisaligns, and when I was done, my orthodontist cemented in permanent retainers (a thin wire inside the back of your teeth), which are *awesome*, but also mean that you can't floss those teeth (4 uppers, 4 lowers). He gave me this little device which looks like an interdental stimulator (the little rubber pick on the end of some toothbrushes), which attached to a handle with batteries that wiggles the pick when you turn it on. (Honestly it looked like a marital aid.)I used to work in a dental office, so I *get* the importance of flossing, and cleaning in between your teeth, so I used the wiggly thing diligently until I had to go overseas, and was worried that TSA would think it was some sort of ..well, who knows what they would think. So I bought a package of these things - and wouldn't you know it - they work *way* better than the wiggly thing, and without the fear of embarrassment (plus they are way more portable).I haven't touched the wiggly thing in months, and I have these guys on subscribe and save. :~) 5Not recommend I bought this without checking with my spouse who is a dentist. I am not allowed to use these at home.I'm told these could hurt very badly and aren't safe/advisable to use over a longer period of time. 2Great for tight crowded teeth I used to use the Doctor s Dental plastic interdental brushes but these are way more comfortable on the gums and I feel like they work better. I have crowded teeth in some spots and these get in between without getting stuck or being forced through. I like that I can bend these to get in between the teeth in the back. That was not the easiest thing to do with the Doctor s Dental brushes. I also didn t taste anything overly minty which is totally fine by me. I can dip the brush into a cup of mouthwash if I wanted that minty burst. I m so pleased with these that I have added them to my subscribe and save list. 5Comparison of two suppliers I used to buy these Dentek slim brushes at Wal-Mart, but lately have been unable to find them anywhere in town. In desperation, I turned to Amazon. For some tight spaces, I have sought the thinnest brushes possible, but I have been confused by the Dentek descriptions (tapered, slim, ultra thin, tight, extra tight, 2.0-3.0 mm, etc.) and handle colors (green, yellow, purple). So I bought two packages of 32 for evaluation and for comparison. Along with other items that I had ordered from Amazon, I received one package from Kivox for $6.25. As in the Amazon picture, the handles were purple and they were described as extra tight . They were made in India. The other package was sent separately from TeethNThings, and cost $6.89. The Amazon picture showed green handles, but the packing slip declared yellow, while in reality they were purple, and exactly like the ones from Kivox. The few older ones I had remaining from Wal-Mart had yellow handles and were made in Viet Nam. I looked at the yellow and purple ones with a stereomicroscope, and observed the following: The metal wire is a twisted loop with no exposed ends that would be sharp or come apart; the wire diameter is the same for yellow and purple. The plastic bristles held in place by the twisted, double-helical wire all have the same diameter. The only obvious difference was that the purple wire had 13 complete twists while the yellow wire had 18 complete twists. This probably has little effect on function. The purple handle was slightly stiffer than the yellow handle, again probably without consequence. I had no green ones for comparison. Maybe they re all essentially the same, despite the differences in descriptions and colors. Too bad Dentek has made it confusing. Since they re so thin, they need to be used carefully and gently to avoid bending and inadvertent gum-piercing, but they sure are nice for those tight spaces. 4Pretty nifty I m going to start off by noting that I hate flossing and have probably flossed a handful of times in my life probably after eating popcorn because I was more annoyed than conscientious. Also worth noting, at 32 years of age I still have never had a cavity but I know I m pushing it. So I got these because they were cheap and looked cute and thought maybe they d inspire me to initiate a dental routine.I like them! They get into the gap between my teeth closest to the gum, unless you have a gapped teeth they don t really pull all the way through like floss. The bristles are gentle and the wire is soft. The only negative is that I do feel a little guilty about all those disposable plastic handles. I did use one brush for all my teeth and will make the pack last a long time. 5Recommended by periodontist The periodontist recommended I start using these when she recommended by gum surgery. I've had enough issues with my gums and I've been using them faithfully, once a day. Floss, then brush, then this. It seems to be working - I'm on the other side of the surgery and the periodontist is done with me. My regular dentist says my gums are looking fine and we'll just keep keeping an eye on them.I have lots of different gap sizes between my teeth and this seems to work for even the smaller ones. The periodontist said, 'don't force it, just push it in to the extent comfortable'. 5Exhausting and painful to use. Just terrible! The wire is thin so if you want it to stay straight up, it won't, and if you want it stay bent it won't. Worst of all, the wire extends beyond the bristles, so it pokes into your gums as you try to get it between your teeth. It took me ages to get it between every tooth, and by the time I was done, I'd poked my gums multiple times. If all dental sticks are as bad as this one, I'll stick with flossers. 1I Will Use These Brushes Daily..Love Them!!I'm a first time user. I've always flossed but wanted more. I purchased these Den Tek Slim brushes and a package of Gum Soft Picks. The Den Tek win hands down for me. I love the real bristle style brush as apposed to the plastic style bristles on the Gum style. I like the fact that these slim brushes are great for wider spaces and well as tight spaces. If wider spacing you just brush around the open area. If you've got tight spacing these get into tight places and do a nice job removing food and plaque. I only have one tooth I don't feel comfortable forcing this through. I also love the flexibility of these brushes. The wire doesn't break. I can bend it so I can even get into the spaces from behind my teeth which is great if you think you have a little plaque build up in the back.It only took a week of daily use for me to see and feel the difference in my teeth. They feel and look so clean. Really does keep plaque under control for me. I just put these on subscribe and save. It's going to be a daily part of my oral hygiene routine.I highly recommend these Den Tek brushes to everyone.5Recommended by my dental hygienist After brushing, flossing and using Stimu-dents, these little brushes are the final step. It's surprising how each method of in-between cleaning gets out yet something else. These little brushes catch anything that hasn't been caught by a toothbrush, a string, and a little piece of wood.**Warning: There s a sharp wire at the end of each brush. Be careful not to stick it your gum.**Surprise benefit: If you use whitening gel and trays, you can dip the brush in the gel, and then run it between your teeth before you put the trays on. This gets at the discoloration between teeth and at the gum line, the hardest places to get to. 4Great for ultra tight teeth My dental hygienist used a similar product on my teeth during my last cleaning and it was a standard size and wouldn't fit through my teeth so she recommended getting a smaller one. I looked tried some that were for tight spaces and they still didn't fit so I tried these. They work great and can go in between all but one set of teeth. I also like that they are disposable because it's kinda gross seeing what's suck in your teeth and I don't want to reuse them. 5Flimsy Pipe Cleaners Originally I bought this small interdental cleaners based on the recommendation of my vet as a way to clean my cats' teeth. Completely nutty, I realize, but in my search for a way to lower my mortgage sized cat dental bills I was willing to go full on crazy cat lady and give these a shot. For cat tooth brushing purposes, which in the entire Amazon universe, likely applies only to one or two cat ladies or gentlemen, they failed miserably. They were way too flimsy and bent immediately when I tried to use them for feline dentifrice purposes.Since I'd ordered 6 packages and therefore had 192 of these things to use up, I decided to try them for their intended purpose, which is to clean between tight teeth as an alternative or in addition to flossing. Fortunately for me, I have very tight spaces between my teeth, so figured I had 192 reasons to put a little extra effort into my dental routine. When using these for the intended human teeth cleaning purpose, they do an inconsistent job. Even when using them for their advertised purpose (trying to get them in tight spaces between teeth), they bend VERY easily. I can't complete one brushing without going through 2-3 of these (which makes getting through 192 much easier, so perhaps this is a positive...).In essence, since these are really nothing more than really skinny pipecleaners, they have a sharp pointy metal end that can jab you in the gums if you aren't careful. Forcing the cleaner between your teeth will result in either the entire thing bending or the metal edge jabbing you hard. Not pleasant either way.For those teeth that this actually gets between (75% success rate at best), I have the odd sensation of residue or fibers being left behind in my teeth, which then leads to dental floss. Perhaps if I had braces or other orthodontics, I could see the reason for these, but in my case, I don't need the extra step and will stick to the dental floss instead. 2
